Reporting to the Senior Manager of Creative Operations, a Staff Creative Project Manager at BILL plays a key role in the Marketing Creative Studio, responsible for the overall efficiency and effectiveness of project work streams and empowering creatives to efficiently deliver high-bar, impactful creative for marketing content, campaigns, collateral, email marketing, events, videos, swag, and more. The proactively roadmap, efficiently intake and route creative requests, and manage day-to-day workflows throughout creative development, creative QA, approvals, delivery, and measurement. 

A Staff Creative Project Manager analyzes ongoing work methods and their team and stakeholder team’s strategic goals to propose and drive programs which reduce operational redundancies and drive business objectives, proposing and developing fresh approaches to operations which ensure creatives reliably deliver high-bar creative within budget, timing, and resourcing constraints. They contribute to, interpret, and plan against strategic creative briefs for complex and large projects; seek and share necessary information from stakeholders and partner teams; define roles and sequencing, and determine best processes for achieving results. 

A Staff Creative Project Manager actively networks and conducts share-outs which help other teams understand how creative and creative operations contribute to strategic business goals. They collaborate closely with team leads across marketing, acting as operational thought leaders who drive a culture of excellence and growth, including identifying conflict and fostering resolution, and mentoring both peers and junior members of the team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Act autonomously as an operations lead throughout fast-paced creative partnerships, initiatives, and workflows, including intake, resourcing, scoping, traffic, reviews, and reporting.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to customize and utilize internal tools required for asset and project management.
  • Strategically iterate standardized project timelines, tasks, DACIs, and measurement strategies; and contribute to creative brief by recommending optimal work methods, teams, milestones, and timelines. 
  • Succinctly and professionally run meetings and present work, logic, and feedback openly to senior leadership and stakeholders across Marketing and other BILL organizations, explaining changing priorities and using compelling arguments to convey conclusions and ideas. Ask clarifying questions, interpret feedback for others, and propose solutions to address efficiency. 
  • Establish mechanisms to actively maintain relationships with cross-functional teams to better understand their collaboration needs, concerns, and roadmaps. Actively and regularly share creative team planning, goals, and roadmaps, with regular stakeholders and partners. 
  • Identify conflict, lead steps and dialog to resolve, and incorporate learnings into processes to mitigate future conflict.
  • Communicate project status with stakeholders regularly. Anticipate, flag, and propose solutions to avoid bottlenecks, resolve roadblocks, strategically escalate when necessary, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance business needs versus technical and creative constraints.
  • Drive programs which ensure a stable vendor program to meet resourcing needs, and ensure proper vendor compliance (including NDAs, SOWs, etc.).
  • Drive collaboration with creative partners to set program/team-level priorities, goals, and recurring processes.
  • Manage and strategically iterate project management approaches, and continually elevate personal PM bar and output. Actively identify areas for improvement across the team’s output, and develop tools to bring the team's body of work up to high-bar.
  • Actively manage personal career development, including defining and tracking quarterly goals, and seeking feedback around job expectations, performance, and promotion cadence.  Independently identify “stretch” opportunities and initiate engagement and planning.

  • 8+ years of related experience working with in-house creative agencies
  • Experience optimizing how creative teams work in project management software like Asana and design tools like Figma 
  • Success in determining new working methods for obtaining impactful creative
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and influence key stakeholders
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve common goals
  • Built dashboards that help measure creative team efficiency and determine opportunities for acceleration

The estimated base salary range for this role is noted below for our office location in Draper, UT. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in BILL’s bonus and equity plan. Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits.
