Staff, Back-end Engineer (Travel Engineering)

What You Will Do: 

• Design and build a new backend Travel/Accommodation Management Service for sellers. 
• Design and build a new Travel Search Engine to support travel business growth.
• Design and build a new Travel Recommendation Engine to support travel business growth.
• Integrate with the 3rd party solutions that 100% meet Coupang security & privacy standards
• Being a team player to work efficiently with partner teams: Marketplace team, Front-end team, Pricing team, Ads team, etc., in Seoul, Seattle and Shanghai offices.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or electrical/electronic engineering, mathematics or equivalent
• 3+ years of solid work with fundamental algorithms, system design, and large distributed systems
• 2+ years of coding experience in one of the following: with: Java, C++, Golang, C#
• Self-starter and innovator who likes to solve complex problems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Air tickets/hotel reservation system development experience is a big plus 
• Demonstrates broad knowledge of technical solutions, design patterns, and code for medium/complex applications deployed in big data area. Hadoop, Spark etc Experience in Familiar with Kafka, Hive
• Proficiency in Spring framework
• Good English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills
