About The Role

As Cheesecake Labs expands into AI-driven services, we are hiring an AI Software Engineer focused on Generative AI applications, not classical ML. This role centers on building AI-enabled product features, integrating LLMs, orchestrating agentic workflows, and leveraging APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, and others.

Some activities you would do on a typical day at Cheesecake Labs:

• Build AI-powered features inside digital products (chatbots, copilots, automations, summarization, classification, creative generation, etc.).
• Integrate with LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Cohere), embeddings, vector databases, and retrieval layers.
• Implement RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, tool calling, and agent workflows.
• Work closely with backend, frontend, and data teams to embed AI into real-world user experiences.
• Participate in client discovery to identify AI opportunities aligned with business outcomes.

In order to succeed, you'll likely need the following skills

• English proficiency
• 3–6+ years of experience in Software Engineering (backend or full-stack).
• Strong hands-on experience with LLMs, GenAI APIs, embeddings, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks.
• Experience integrating GenAI into production systems.
• Proficiency in at least one of the following: Python, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Familiarity with AI development tools:

• • Orchestration (LangChain, LlamaIndex or similar)

  • Vector DBs (Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, Chroma or similar)

  • LLMs services (OpenAI / Anthropic / Gemini APIs)

  • Observability (Langfuse or similar)

• Ability to design prompts, tool schemas, and agent workflows.
• Solid knowledge of SQL databases and caching technologies such as Redis, plus experience with asynchronous architectures.
• Applicants must live in Brazil and have a Brazilian bank account, be legally allowed to provide services to a Brazilian entity and willingness to receive in Brazilian local currency (Real R$)

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of fine-tuning, distillation, or implementing lightweight local inference (but not mandatory).
• Deep, practical experience with AI/ML systems (e.g., LLMs, recommender systems, data‑driven architectures).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure for AI workloads.
• Experience with UX teams to design human-AI interaction flows.
