Staff Accountant

Job Responsibilities

• • Maintain timely and accurate financial records using QuickBooks; AppFolio experience is a plus
  • Review, code, and process vendor invoices and generate weekly payment lists
  • Review monthly financial statements from third-party property management companies to ensure all rental income is received and expenses are accurately charged
  • Reconcile rental income statements from property management companies and direct tenant payments
  • Track rent collection status and follow up with Property Managers regarding unpaid or outstanding rents
  • Perform bank, income, and account reconciliations as required
  • Assist with month-end close and financial reporting
  • Complete when necessary or needed accounting and reporting assignments as needed
  
  

Requirements

• • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred, or equivalent professional experience
  • 3+ years of accounting experience; real estate or property management experience is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid data entry accuracy with intermediate Excel skills preferred
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to new systems and processes
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• • Experience with AppFolio, Yardi, or other property management platforms
  • Familiarity with rent rolls, vendor management, and third-party reconciliations
  • Experience supporting multi-property or portfolio accounting
