About This Team and Role

Verra Mobility is hiring a Staff Accountant. This position will report to the Assistant Controller and is responsible for preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and assist with the month-end close process in Corporate Accounting.

What You'll Do

Assist with the month-end and quarter-end close process
Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations and analyses timely and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
Perform work under the supervision of the Senior Accountants and work with the team to ensure key accounting control activities are completed timely and in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley standards
Demonstrate attention to detail and effective multi-tasking
Complete vendor setups in the system and participate in special projects/ ad hoc requests as needed
Provide support to internal and external auditors in connection with the year-end audit and quarterly reviews

What You'll Bring

Bachelor's degree in Accounting strongly preferred
Minimum of 2 years accounting experience
Experience performing month-end close duties
Familiarity with MS Excel and use of formulas
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with people cross-functionally
