About the position
The Staff Accountant provides hands-on accounting support with a primary focus on general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes. The role prioritises accuracy, compliance, and strong technical accounting fundamentals over analytical reporting. Experience with Sage Intacct and a solid command of debits and credits are critical requirements.
Required Education and Experience

3+ years of experience in accounting.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.
- Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) is beneficial
- Proficient with Sage Intacct is a requirement (experience with other Sage products will not be considered equivalent).
Preferred Education and Experience

Certified Public Accountant.

Prior experience with QuickBooks, Sage MAS 90, MIP, CCH Axcess, BILL, or ADP would be beneficial.

Prior experience in public accounting or another professional services organization.
Essential Functions
- Prepare and post journal entries and perform detailed general ledger reconciliations
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Validate supporting documentation, identify discrepancies, and resolve or escalate issues as needed
- Perform day-to-day accounting functions, including AP, AR, payroll support, and bank reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal controls
- Utilize accounting systems to perform accurate data entry and maintain proper documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support accounting and reporting objectives
- Meet firm productivity, utilization, and training requirements
