We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant II to join our corporate accounting team. This role may be fully remote or hybrid/in-person at our Guadalajara office. While the company maintains a subsidiary in Guadalajara, this position will support the U.S. corporate entity, not the local subsidiary. 

This role will support day-to-day corporate accounting operations, contribute to month-end close, and assist with maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate has a solid accounting foundation, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating across teams. 

This position is well-suited for someone with 3+ years of accounting experience who is looking to continue building technical skills and take on increasing responsibility. 

Key responsabilities: 

  • Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with US GAAP 
  • Support month-end close activities, including accruals, amortization, depreciation, and reclassifications 
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving variances 
  • Support data gathering and analysis for tax, compliance, and regulatory reporting processes 
  • Pull, organize, and retain supporting documentation for monthly close and annual audit purposes 
  • Maintain accurate documentation and accounting records 
  • Support process improvements and special projects as assigned 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field 
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience 
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP 
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliations 
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic formulas) 
  • Experience with accounting or ERP systems 
  • Experience working with U.S.-based teams or supporting U.S. entities 
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English (written and verbal) 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines 
  • Ability to operate successfully within a ‘virtual’ company   
  • Public accounting experience a plus 
  • CPA or CPA-eligible a plus 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced or growing environment
