Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our accounting operations within a farming environment. This role will primarily focus on grower accounting while also assisting with general ledger functions and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced, seasonal industry and has a strong understanding of agricultural accounting practices. Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant Maintain accurate grower accounts, including settlements, advances, payments, and reconciliations Prepare and review grower statements ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with agreements Track production costs, grower expenses, and allocations related to farming operations Assist with general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis Support month-end and year-end close processes Reconcile inventory, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities related to agricultural operations Collaborate with operations, field staff, and management to resolve discrepancies and provide financial support Assist with audits, internal reporting, and special accounting projects as needed Qualifications of the Staff Accountant Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, nice but not necessary 2+ years of accounting experience Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting Proficient in Excel; experience with accounting or ERP systems preferred Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines Benefits & Perks of Joining Our Client Competitive medical, dental, and vision insurance, company covers about 60% of the cost 4% 401(k) match 3 weeks of paid time off 5 paid sick days Long-term career growth within a stable organization Supportive, team-oriented culture with hands-on exposure to farming operations
