The Staff Accountant will have an integral role in the Accounting & Finance team which includes journal entry preparation, reconciliations, period-end close processes, and variance analysis. The role has a great opportunity for growth, as we continue to build the accounting department.
Essential Functions
- Participate in the period-end close process including the preparation of journal entries, support schedules, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Perform general accounting functions such as Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payables
- Ensure compliance with established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Ensure all required financial data is accurately captured, reconciled, documented, and disclosed in accordance with accounting standards
- Identify and implement solutions to improve accounting efficiencies and automate processes
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Prepare reports and perform analysis as needed
- Assist with system enhancements, upgrades, and implementations
- Provide support during the annual audit, as necessary
- Assist with special projects and other functions, as necessary
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related discipline, plus 2 years of combined public accounting and private industry general accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
- High attention to detail with a proven ability to analyze, interpret, and resolve discrepancies
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines, stay organized, and manage peak workloads effectively
- Creative thinker with a solutions-oriented mindset
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, timely results
- Ability to analyze, evaluate, and act quickly to support rapid decision-making
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Experience with accounting systems, Microsoft Dynamics F&O is preferred
