About Aqemia
Aqemia is a next-generation pharmatech reinventing drug discovery with quantum-inspired physics and generative AI.
Our mission: design innovative small-molecule drug candidates for dozens of critical diseases, faster and smarter, without relying on experimental data.
Unlike traditional approaches, Aqemia starts drug discovery purely in silico. By combining physics-based models with large language models trained on proprietary data, we identify promising molecules with high accuracy before synthesis.
We’ve already delivered multiple preclinical successes and secured strategic partnership. Our internal pipeline is growing fast, with several programs in in vivo optimization.
We’re a team of 65+ based in Paris and London, we bring together chemists, physicists, engineers, and machine learning experts to push the boundaries of what’s possible in early-stage drug discovery.
The Role
As an SRE - Platform Engineer in the Infra Team, you will be at the heart of our platform, helping to build and maintain the tools, processes, and systems that power Aqemia's drug discovery engine.
You will contribute to the design and implementation of a scalable and resilient infrastructure, focusing on both enhancing the developer experience and ensuring the reliability, performance, and availability of our services. Your work is crucial for enabling our scientists, engineers, and AI models to develop, test, and deploy their work efficiently and without interruption.
In this key, cross-functional role, you will collaborate with multiple teams to improve our core infrastructure and promote engineering best practices.
What You’ll Do
Design, implement, and maintain systems to ensure platform uptime, performance, and scalability
Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration with infrastructure-as-code tools
Optimize build/test/deploy workflows for performance, reliability, and developer usability
Participate to the technical roadmap definition with the team
Define and improve SLOs, SLAs, monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes
Collaborate with product stakeholders and engineering teams to build resilient, observable systems
Manage containerized environments and orchestrators (Kubernetes) across multiple projects
Participate to cross-functional discussions and translate business needs into infra priorities
Ensure infrastructure security, scalability, and cost-efficiency
Monitor and continuously improve system performance and deployment processes
What We’re Looking For
4+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or infrastructure automation
Strong experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. Github Actions, ArgoCD)
Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Terragrunt…)
Deep familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
Solid understanding of deployment strategies, secrets management, and system monitoring
Ability to work autonomously and collaborate across diverse technical teams
Preferred Mindset
You believe great DevOps = speed + reliability + simplicity
You love making other engineers’ lives easier
You care about clean automation and reducing manual overhead
You enjoy working behind the scenes to support high-impact science
