Support the testing and validation of PCBs used in electronic systems by designing and improving test procedures and ensuring the highest product quality.
Salary: $120,000 - 150,000/year
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Test Engineer to support the testing and validation of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) used in our electronic systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, executing, and improving test procedures for assembled PCBs, diagnosing failures, and ensuring the highest product quality before release. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with hardware and has a strong understanding of electronics, test instrumentation, and PCB manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute test plans for PCBs at various stages: in-circuit, functional, and system-level.
Perform electrical measurements, signal integrity tests, and debugging using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and other test equipment.
Analyze and interpret test results to identify failure modes and root causes.
Work with design engineers to define test points and DFT (Design for Testability) features.
Create and maintain automated or manual test fixtures and scripts (e.g., LabVIEW, Python, or other test automation tools).
Collaborate with manufacturing and R&D teams to ensure seamless integration of test solutions into production.
Support the development of custom test jigs for prototype and production-level PCBs.
Document test procedures, test setups, and test results clearly and accurately.
Generate failure analysis reports and collaborate with cross-functional teams on corrective actions.
Maintain test records for traceability and compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
Analyze test data to improve yield and reduce false failures.
Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance test coverage, speed, and reliability.
Support new product introduction (NPI) and product lifecycle testing.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience in PCB or electronics testing.
Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and PCB layouts.
Experience using test equipment: oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, logic analyzers, etc.
Familiarity with test automation tools and scripting (Python, LabVIEW, or equivalent).
Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics fundamentals.
