Sr. Strategic Sourcing Specialist
TLDR
Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to drive commercial outcomes, optimize supplier relationships, and strengthen procurement operations in a mission-driven environment.
- Role is in Dallas or Austin.
- This is a hybrid role with a primarily remote work model with in-person attendance in the Plano office at least once a month or as required based on the stakeholder's and leadership's engagements.
- Minimal travel may be required.
- Own and lead end-to-end vendor negotiations including pricing, contract terms, SLAs, renewal structures, and commercial risk.
- Develop and execute negotiation strategies with clear objectives, fallback positions, and competitive leverage.
- Drive measurable cost savings, cost avoidance, and contract optimization across assigned categories.
- Lead RFP, RFQ, and RFI processes independently for medium to high complexity engagements.
- Conduct market benchmarking and pricing validation to strengthen sourcing positions and renewal strategies.
- Structure multi-year agreements, renewal protections, and pricing controls aligned with business needs.
- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, proactively influencing sourcing decisions and commercial strategy.
- Engage early in business planning cycles to anticipate demand and position procurement ahead of spend.
- Translate business requirements into sourcing strategies, supplier selection criteria, and commercial frameworks.
- Provide clear visibility into sourcing pipeline, savings performance, and commercial risks through structured updates and QBRs.
- Drive alignment across stakeholders to ensure timely decision-making and execution.
- Partner closely with Legal to lead contract structuring, redlines, and negotiations through execution.
- Ensure alignment on risk exposure, compliance requirements, and internal policy across all agreements.
- Own renewal strategy and supplier commercial lifecycle management proactively.
- Maintain clean, accurate contract and sourcing data across Oracle, ZIP, and CLM systems.
- Lead continuous optimization of procurement workflows, identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and delays across the end-to-end intake-to-purchase process.
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, IT, Security, and business stakeholders to streamline approvals, improve handoffs, and accelerate cycle times without sacrificing controls.
- Serve as a power user and operational owner across procurement systems (ZIP, Oracle, CLM), driving adoption, discipline, and consistency.
- Own operational governance of requisitioning, purchase order, and change order workflows, ensuring timely execution, clean data, and policy alignment.
- Identify recurring operational pain points and implement scalable, sustainable solutions that improve user experience and visibility.
- Build reporting and performance visibility around procurement cycle times, backlog, workflow health, and service levels.
- Partner with buyers and sourcing teams to ensure operational execution supports commercial priorities and business urgency.
- Establish scalable standards, documentation, and process controls that enable growth while maintaining consistency and compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain, finance, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or vendor management.
- Proven track record leading vendor negotiations and commercial contract discussions.
- Experience leading full-cycle sourcing events (RFP, RFQ, RFI) independently.
- Experience partnering directly with Facilities, Operations, IT-Security, Legal, or similar stakeholders.
- Strong analytical capability including spend analysis, benchmarking, and savings tracking.
- Experience with Oracle ERP.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities.
- Experience in the technology sector across services, software, and enterprise environments.
- Ability to operate independently across multiple concurrent sourcing initiatives.
- Experience with ZIP Procurement Platform.
