In This Role

In this role, you will contribute to strengthening the security posture of a major operating system by identifying vulnerabilities, improving automated test frameworks, and developing comprehensive scenario‑level test automation. You will support high‑impact security initiatives aimed at reducing system‑level attack surfaces and delivering a more secure-by-default platform. This includes building and enhancing automated testing capabilities, executing rigorous test cycles, troubleshooting failures, and ensuring high-quality validation across end‑to‑end customer scenarios.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and document all testing activities, including test plans, test cases, and test execution.
  • Execute detailed test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures to validate system functionality.
  • Test system and feature modifications prior to implementation.
  • Build and maintain automated test frameworks and create automation test cases for end‑to‑end scenarios.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues and test failures.
  • Analyze, identify, and document issues related to software functionality, performance, usability, or content.
  • Report and track defects using a standardized bug tracking system.
  • Monitor bug resolution and validate successful fixes.
  • Maintain databases or repositories of known test defects.
  • Develop testing programs targeting areas such as database impacts, user scenarios, and security‑related workflows.
  • Plan test schedules and strategies aligned with project scope, milestones, and delivery timelines.
  • Support security‑focused engineering work by identifying gaps and contributing to feature‑level and scenario‑level validation.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 8–10 years of professional experience in software testing.
  • 7–8 years of experience developing automation test frameworks.
  • 7–8 years of experience designing and developing end‑to‑end scenario‑level automated test cases.
  • 7–8 years of experience executing, troubleshooting, and fixing defects in automated tests.
  • Experience writing test documentation, including test plans, test scripts, and test result reports.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret test results and provide actionable recommendations for test or product improvements.

Technical Experience Required:

  • Strong background in software testing methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with automation test frameworks (framework design, implementation, maintenance).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for automation failures and defect triage.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with operating system‑level testing.
  • Exposure to or experience in cybersecurity-related testing.
  • Familiarity with scenario‑level test automation for complex customer workflows.
  • Experience supporting initiatives focused on system hardening or secure-by-default design principles.

Salary 

 

At Blueprint, we strive to offer competitive pay that reflects the value of our team members. Compensation for this role is influenced by a variety of factors, including skills, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographic market.
 
For candidates based in Washington State, the anticipated salary range is $110,000 to $120,000 annually. Please note that we typically do not hire new employees at the top of the posted range. Actual starting pay will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity. The final salary and job title may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications and could fall outside the stated range.
