In this senior interim role, you will bring both strategic clarity and bold creative ambition. You’ll help us evolve toward a more distinctive and conversation-worthy social identity. One that truly reflects our brand, resonates with relevant communities across platforms, and seamlessly connects with our broader marketing ecosystem.

What you’ll do: The Recipe

Define the social vision and platform strategy for Benelux. Clarify how HelloFresh shows up and what makes us culturally resonant. Then translate that vision into a clear role for each channel, grounded in audience behavior and platform dynamics.

Build meaningful community engagement. Develop approaches that turn audiences into active participants: sparking conversation, encouraging advocacy, and strengthening long-term brand affinity.

Unite Social and Influencer into one clear strategy. Align organic content, creator partnerships, and UGC into a clear approach, and position social as a core pillar within the broader marketing ecosystem.

Raise the creative bar. Challenge and inspire agency partners and internal stakeholders to move beyond safe execution and deliver distinctive, conversation-driving work that builds ‘brand love’.

Act as our internal trend authority. You LOVE to stay ahead of developments in food culture and social media (from emerging chefs, restaurants, and creators to broader cultural moments in NL & BE) and translate them into relevant, on-brand activations.

Define and measure success. Establish clear KPIs per channel, connect social performance to brand consideration, manage budgets, and continuously refine the strategy through data-driven insights.

Ensure operational excellence. Oversee our agency partner in the production of our content, ensuring alignment with our communications calendar, consistent quality, generating bold ideas, and timely delivery.
What you’ll bring: The Ingredients

7+ years of experience in social media and/or brand management, with at least 3 years deeply focused on social strategy (agency or in-house for strong consumer/lifestyle brands).

Strong academic foundation. A relevant Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Media, or a related field

A proven track record of elevating social presence for brands people genuinely love. Ideally in food, lifestyle, retail, or e-commerce.

Deep understanding of the Dutch and Belgian social media and food landscape. You know which brands, creators, chefs, and social media trends are shaping culture.

Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution experience. You can start in the details but operate at vision level.

Confidence working cross-functionally with Brand, Growth, PR, and external agencies, influencing stakeholders and inspiring teams.

Fluency in both Dutch and English is a must (French is a plus).

Experience with tools such as Smartly, Jira, and Microsoft Suite is helpful, but mindset and creative impact matter more than specific systems.

Commercial information
This role is offered on a freelance basis; standard employee benefits do not apply.
- All costs and expenses (including travel or commuting) must be included in the proposed hourly rate. Hourly rates should be communicated excluding VAT.
- Invoicing must comply with applicable Dutch legal and VAT requirements.
- All contingent workers engaged by HelloFresh must hold valid professional liability insurance that is valid in the Netherlands. If we decide to move forward together and you are not yet insured, you will be required to arrange this insurance before starting the assignment.
