Sr. Regional Business Manager – Japan

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Leadership

  • Own revenue, pipeline, and forecasting for Japan, ensuring consistent quarterly and annual growth.
  • Work closely with our Distributor SCRUM to validate leads and solidify messaging and commercial development.
  • Develop and execute the Japan commercial strategy aligned with global objectives.
  • Identify and prioritize high‑value customer segments across academia, translational research, and biopharma.

Sales Execution

  • Manage the full sales cycle for instruments, consumables, and services, from lead generation to close.
  • Develop and give Seminars and education Webinars to Key opinion leader and target customers.
  • Conduct product presentations, technical discussions, and commercial negotiations.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline using CRM tools including SFDC and data‑driven forecasting.

Market Development

  • Drive awareness and adoption of Alamar’s proteomics and multi‑omics technologies, including ultra‑sensitive protein detection and single‑cell platforms.
  • Develop key opinion leader (KOL) relationships and support early‑access or lighthouse customer programs.
  • Represent the company at conferences, seminars, and customer events in Japan.

Channel & Partner Management

  • Manage distributor and Sub-Distributor relationships (if applicable), including performance oversight, training, and joint business planning.
  • Provide INTEL of the commercial activities and gauge customer visit frequency by both the Distributor and Sub-Distributors.
  • Monitor pricing for each of these target groups to make sure they fall in the range of our expectations.
  • Evaluate and optimize channel strategy to ensure strong market coverage.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with global marketing to localize campaigns and messaging for Japan.
  • Work closely with field applications scientists (FAS) and technical support to ensure customer success.
  • Provide structured market feedback to product management and R&D teams.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
  • Maintain accurate reporting of activities, forecasts, and competitive intelligence.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences; advanced degree (MS/PhD) preferred.
  • 7+ years of commercial experience in life‑science tools, proteomics, genomics, or related technologies.
  • Proven track record of selling capital equipment and consumables in Japan.
  • Strong understanding of the Japanese research ecosystem and procurement processes.
  • Native‑level Japanese and business‑level English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience launching new technologies or building markets from early stage.
  • Existing relationships with leading Japanese research institutions and biopharma companies.
  • Experience working in a global, fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
  • Ability to translate complex scientific concepts into compelling commercial value.

Compensation: Competitive base salary + performance‑based commission + equity participation. Total compensation will reflect experience, performance, and market benchmarks.
