Your role
As a backend developer you are responsible for creating a fast and scalable backend. As a part of a cross functional team you will not only write code, but also develop the infrastructure to CI/CD this code. Your focus will always be on creating maximum value for our customers.

On a daily basis you :

• Design and implement backend functionality to support a platform for managing machine learning pipelines and artefacts together with data visualizations.

• You will work in a cross functional team to:

  • design and implement an amazing UX experience (the SDK & API are also seen as UX entry points).

  • write and maintain clean, modular code (with the help of AI Agents).

  • deliver features end-to-end.

Requirements

Must haves

• Living and working in Belgium.

• You hold a Bachelor or Master's degree, and have a minimum of 4 years experience in a relevant position.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • You make tactical decisions about implementation details and design patterns for specific features.

  • You are able to troubleshoot cross-domain issues.

  • Practical understanding of Software Development Lifecycle processes.

• You are fluent in English, knowing Dutch is a plus. You can communicate technical choices to the team and can collaborate with our product owner to ensure technical solutions meet business requirements.

• You are able to process, learn and apply new concepts at a high pace. You are also able to act as a peer mentor to new joiners in a later stage. 

• You are critical of your own and others’ code, but also critical of your own workflows and the team’s processes, suggesting improvements where needed.  

• Continuous quality and security is important for you.

• Strong software development background: 

  • Practical experience with design patterns, OOD, CI/CD, multithreading, asynchronous programming, ...).

  • Proficient in a number of programming languages (Python, Rust, ...) and software architectures.

  • Knowledge about databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL,...).

  • Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes,...).

  • Experience with advanced Python libraries (e.g. AsyncIO, FastAPI, ...).

• Familiarity with AI Agents, including Tools and Skills, MCPs and have a clear understanding of how to interact with agents.
  

Nice to have

• Basic practical machine learning experience is a nice-to-have (Pytorch, Triton, TensorRT, ...).

• Proven experience in designing & developing fully automated CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab, Helm).

• Passionate about computer vision, deep learning and automation.

• Basic knowledge about front-end technologies like Typescript, Vue.js, Cypress, Pinia.
