The Project Manager will support the successful planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects by assisting with detailed project schedules, budgets, permitting, procurement, and mobilization efforts. This role helps lead field staff and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative, safety-focused work environment through regular site visits and proactive issue resolution.
Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
Lead multiple construction projects from buyout through closeout
Establish and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost controls
Oversee subcontractor procurement, contract administration, and change management
Serve as the primary escalation point for field leadership, owners, and design teams
Ensure projects meet quality standards, schedule commitments, and financial targets
Protect margins while maintaining strong client relationships
Preconstruction Collaboration
Partner closely with preconstruction during project handoff to validate scope, schedule, and budget assumptions
Identify estimate gaps, risks, and constructability issues prior to mobilization
Support development of realistic project schedules and phasing strategies
Provide feedback to preconstruction teams to improve future estimates and proposals
Help standardize precon-to-operations handoff processes and documentation
Team Development & Mentorship
Mentor and support an existing Project Manager through active projects
Teach best practices in budgeting, scheduling, buyout, forecasting, and change management
Provide guidance on decision-making, risk management, and communication
Help standardize PM systems, templates, and workflows
Gradually transition day-to-day project leadership to the PM as skills and confidence grow
Operational Improvement
Improve alignment between preconstruction assumptions and field execution
Identify inefficiencies and implement practical, scalable solutions
Support leadership in creating repeatable systems rather than “hero-driven” project management
Qualifications
10+ years of construction project management experience
Strong understanding of preconstruction, estimating, and project planning concepts
Proven experience leading complex projects from start to finish
Demonstrated history of mentoring or developing Project Managers or Project Engineers
Strong grasp of construction financials, scheduling, and risk management
Ability to explain the why behind decisions—not just the what
Comfortable working in a smaller, high-accountability environment
