The Role: As a core member of the Competitive Intelligence (CI) function with the Product Marketing Manager (PMM) team, you will partner directly with the Senior Director of PMM/CI to scale our intelligence function. You will build the "Intel Engine," working closely with our Product & Technology team and third-party research partners (news aggregation, win/loss, AI workflow) to synthesize complex inputs into simple, high-impact sales assets. If you love taking a 10-page technical report and turning it into a 30-second "positioning" pitch for a sales rep, this role is for you. Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Execute Competitive Asset Production (50%):
  • Tier 1 Competitor Assets: Execute battlecards, one-pagers, objection handlers, and talk tracks for competitive threats (Sr Director defines win themes; you produce and maintain assets). Partner with Product & Technology teams to translate technical differentiation into value-based sales positioning. Update assets in a timely manner of major competitive announcements
  • Tier 2 & 3 Competitor Coverage: Own asset production for secondary competitors within the strategic framework set by the Sr Director. Monitor for pricing changes, feature launches, and positioning shifts. Proactively flag threats before they become Tier 1 problems.
  • The Translation Engine: Synthesize complex technical insights into punchy, value-based positioning. Turn technical reports into 30-second sales pitches. Write competitive messaging that emphasizes business outcomes, not features.
  • Operate the Intel Engine: Execute and optimize established CI workflows: Field intelligence coordination, pattern tag processing, news aggregation, AI-assisted synthesis. Leverage external vendors for our CI tech stack to scale coverage without sacrificing quality. Continuously improve efficiency: can we produce assets faster? Better?
  • Asset Lifecycle Management: Manage competitive intelligence library in sales enablement platform.Track usage, gather feedback, and continuously improve based on adoption data. Ensure sales can find the right asset during live calls.
  • Activate the Field & Enable Sales (30%):
  • Field Intelligence Network (First Responder): Serve as first responder to field competitive questions—triage, validate, respond within 24-48 hours hours. Manage Field Intelligence team: coordinate intelligence flow across cross-functional teams. Process weekly field intelligence using pattern tag workflows and AI-assisted analysis.
  • Bi-Weekly Competitive Digest: Curate and publish internal CI Newsletter. Strip away noise; deliver only "need-to-know" market shifts. Maintain high read rates through crisp, relevant content.
  • Sales Enablement & Training: Present at bi-monthly Global Sales Enablement calls (competitive updates, new assets, win themes). Partner with Enablement to embed CI into onboarding and certification. Deliver "competitive sprint" sessions for major deal support.
  • Intelligence Analysis & CI Operations (20%):
  • Win/Loss Intelligence Analysis: Pull and analyze data from win/loss research and internal AI tools weekly. Identify patterns: which competitors are we losing to? Why? In which segments? Create first-pass analysis and flag key trends.
  • Market Monitoring & Early Warning: Maintain radar on Tier 2/3 competitors: pricing, acquisitions, launches, leadership changes. Flag emerging threats and monitor news, analyst reports, and industry forums.
  • Vendor & Tool Management (Day-to-Day): Manage day-to-day vendor relationships: Win-loss, news aggregation, AI workflow. Administer internal CI tools: Highspot library, pattern tag generator, AI workflows. Build and maintain monthly CI performance metrics dashboard.
  • Web & Campaign Support (Execution): Execute updates to "Yubico vs. [Competitor]" comparison pages (VP sets strategy; you produce content). Collaborate with Digital Marketing on content production and SEO. Ensure pages reflect latest competitive positioning and product updates.
  • Who You Are:
  • The Synthesizer: You do not dump data on people. You collect and analyze internal and external research so sales doesn't have to, and you give them the 3 bullet points that matter.
  • The Storyteller: You understand that features tell, but benefits sell. You excel at translating "what the product does" into "why it matters," turning dry technical specifications into persuasive business arguments that close deals.
  • The Tech Optimist: You are digitally fluent. You proactively embrace new AI tools and automation to speed up your workflows, rather than relying on manual processes.
  • The Partner: You are comfortable debating technical nuance with an Engineer in the morning and simplifying that same concept for a Sales rep in the afternoon.
  • Basic Qualifications:
  • 5-7+ years in Product Marketing, Competitive Intelligence, or Sales Engineering in Cybersecurity or B2B SaaS
  • Proven track record creating sales assets that sales teams actually use (battlecards, one-pagers, objection handlers)
  • Vendor management experience: managed external partners and held them accountable to deliverables
  • Data fluent: analyze win/loss data and translate into actionable insights
  • Hands-on experience with sales enablement platforms (Highspot) and CRM (Salesforce)—can administer and optimize
  • Strong written/verbal communication: write punchy, persuasive copy sales teams use in customer conversations. Present competitive insights to Sales, Product, and Marketing simply and compellingly
  • Operational excellence mindset: track metrics, meet deadlines, manage workflows, continuously improve
  • Bonus Qualifications:
  • AI tool proficiency: demonstrated experience using AI models (e.g. Gemini, NotebookLM, others) to automate workflows
  • IAM/Authentication domain knowledge: FIDO, MFA, SSO, Passkeys, Hardware Security, Identity & Access Management
  • B2B Enterprise sales experience: understand complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
  • Why Join Yubico's Competitive Intelligence Team
