Sr. Product Developer, Women's

$109,000 – $140,175 per year

TLDR

Lead the product development lifecycle by transforming designs into production-ready products, ensuring innovative quality while managing vendor partnerships and timelines.

In this role, you’ll bring Vuori designs to life—turning concepts into production-ready products through sharp commercial judgment, strong vendor partnerships, and disciplined calendar management. As a Senior Product Developer focused on apparel, you’ll sit at the center of Design, Merchandising, Technical Design, Planning, Production, and our factory partners—guiding decisions on construction, costing, timelines, and quality. You’ll own the details, influence the outcomes, and help deliver innovative, on-brand product that hits margin, timing, and performance expectations.

What you'll get to do:

  • Own the end-to-end product development lifecycle for your assigned category—from concept through production readiness.
  • Deliver against margin, calendar, quality, compliance, and buy readiness targets for your categories.
  • Lead vendor cost negotiations to hit target margins while protecting product integrity and brand standards.
  • Diagnose cost drivers and recommend commercially viable construction/material options that support the business strategy.
  • Own the accuracy of product data in PLM (style details, BOMs, costing, technical attributes, and buy readiness status).
  • Drive cross-functional alignment ahead of key milestones (Line Lock, Buy Readiness, PO Release).
  • Operate as a PLM power user and process advocate—spotting opportunities to improve data quality and team efficiency.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between vendor partners and cross-functional teams (Design, Technical Design, Merchandising, Production, Materials, Trims/Color).
  • Clearly communicate technical, cost, and calendar tradeoffs to enable fast, informed decisions.
  • Partner with Design and Technical Design to ensure tech packs support innovation, function, fit, and commercial viability.
  • Participate in fittings and keep vendor communication crisp, accurate, and commercially aligned.
  • Oversee performance and compliance testing; proactively identify and mitigate risk before buy readiness.
  • Maintain accurate WIP status and proactively manage time & action calendars to deliver on-time milestones.
  • Hold vendors accountable for sample submissions, development timelines, and cost transparency.
  • Partner with Production to ensure a seamless handoff from development to bulk execution.
  • Mentor and develop Assistants, Associates, and Developers through training, coaching, and feedback.
  • Model professional communication, confident negotiation, and solution-oriented problem solving.
  • Champion process discipline, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the team.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing or equivalent years of experience preferred
  • 7+ years of product development experience, with a strong understanding of managing product from concept through commercialization.
  • Must possess strong knowledge of costing, garment construction, and all pre-production processes.
  • Strategic understanding of timelines and deadlines in relation to a seasonal calendar
  • Knowledge of materials used in the development and manufacturing processes used to build products.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with emphasis on Excel and PLM systems (Centric a plus).
  • Intermediate computer drawing skills for technical and construction details; Adobe Illustrator experience is a plus.
  • Strong sense of style, trend, and market awareness.
  • Aptitude for systems and systematic work.

Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements

  • International travel experience is a plus; possible international travel required
  • Bend, lift, open and move product and related office items varying in weight from up to 25lbs, depending on need.
