What you’ll be working on
Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Sr Product Designer, Design Systems to join their team. As a Senior UX Designer, you will play a key role in shaping their unified design system strategy and maintaining our client's design system named "Spark." You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and apply your expertise to drive system creation, adoption, and technical implementation initiatives. Your focus will be on creating design solutions that scale for the future while understanding the current technology constraints.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with internal team members, Researchers, Program and Product Managers to drive system creation, adoption, and technical implementation initiatives.
- Create design solutions that balance scalability and technology constraints while keeping user experience and business rationale in mind.
- Lead and inspire the team towards achieving real system outcomes.
- Evaluate complex problems and propose simple and elegant solutions.
- Act as a "Player/Coach," taking a hands-on approach to design while mentoring less experienced designers.
- Work with the team to create components, libraries, and UI patterns that define the product direction and visual language of the company Spark.
- Document and define component and pattern usage guidelines to guide cross-functional product teams.
- Collaborate with the Platform Engineering team to ensure accurate implementation of components within established timelines.
- Uphold quality standards by executing visual QA, design system audits, and component design in a collaborative manner.
- Plan and execute design research and share findings across the organization.
Experience and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of design experience, including interaction design and visual design, with a focus on product function impact.
- 2+ years of experience in building and maintaining design systems.
- Deep expertise in visual design, interaction design, and information architecture.
- Strong knowledge of common design patterns and practices.
- Demonstrated experience and examples of design system development and solutions.
- Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including the creation of developer-consumable components and utilization of new functionalities like variants and auto layout.
- Interest and passion for Health and Wellness.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to break down complex problems and propose elegant solutions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to upholding quality standards.
