The Pricing and Promotions team at Shutterfly is seeking a highly motivated, strategic, action-oriented Senior Pricing/Data Analyst who is an expert in SQL and is able to pull the right price discovery data to analyze pricing and promotional performance. This individual will be part of a talented team that plans and executes pricing and promotional programs designed to maximize Shutterfly Inc. revenue and margin targets. This role requires a strong and collaborative individual with a keen ability in identifying drivers, declaring findings, and constructing in clean, easy to understand documents; then working cross-functionally to drive successful execution. As a Pricing/Data Analyst the individual will partner closely cross-functionally with category management, merchandise planning, ecommerce, marketing and the finance team leaders to determine strategies, set-up test plans, execute programs, and evaluate performance with recommendations on future actions.
 
What You’ll Do Here:

  • Serve as a P&P technical expert 
  • Write quality SQL code to retrieve and analyze data, Power BI experience as a plus
  • Answer key P&P questions: define analytics approach, retrieve, and manipulate data needed to perform analysis, and deliver actionable insights to the P&P team
  • Obtain, analyze historical pricing and promotional data to recommend data driven actions for improving revenue/margin.
  • Develop innovative methods and tools for reviewing, analyzing, forecasting, and presenting pricing performance metrics.
  • Work cross functionally with other groups to translate strategies into specific pricing programs.
  • Drive development of quantitative models necessary for the evaluation and implementation of new pricing strategies.
  • Analyze and solve business problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context.
  • Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
The Skills and Experience You’ll Bring:
  • BA/BS required with a strong quantitative / analytical background
  • 5+ years of experience in an analytical role within Pricing, Business Operations, Merchandising, Marketing, Finance or similar functional area
  • Strong SQL/database skills required; R/Python experience is a plus
  • Power user of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Highly strategic, quantitative and analytical
  • Ability to collaborate actively & effectively on multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapid growth environment
  • Motivated, dynamic, creative and results-oriented
  • Retail and/or Ecommerce experience a plus, but not required
  • Experience with a business intelligence reporting tool (Tableau, Cognos, Business Objects, etc.) a plus, but not required

The compensation package for this role is based on multiple factors, such as job level, responsibilities, location, and candidate experience. The base pay ranges included below are specific to the locations listed, and may not be applicable to other locations.

California : [$78,000-$110,750]

Connecticut and New York: [$78,000-$101,250]

Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota and Washington: [$78,000-$93,750]

Nevada: [$73,250-$101,250]

Maryland and New Jersey: [$84,250-$101,250]

Hawaii : [$73,250– $88,250]

This opportunity can be remote, but candidates must reside in a state in which Shutterfly is registered to do business. This includes all US states except District of Columbia, North Dakota, Mississippi, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Wyoming.
