We are seeking an experienced Senior Paid Search Manager to support and help elevate our paid search program. This role is a hybrid of hands-on execution and strategic partnership, at least 50% hands-on-keyboard, working closely with the Search Lead.
While the Search Lead will set overall direction and priorities, this role will act as a senior thought partner, bringing deep paid search expertise, strong operational rigor, and best-in-class optimization practices to the program.
In addition, this role will provide day-to-day guidance and oversight to the Paid Search Manager who is responsible for full hands-on execution.
Primary Responsibilities
- Works in conjunction with Search Lead to actively contribute to account strategy, budget development, KPI's, partner selection and new tactics.
- Translate strategic direction from the internal Search Lead into tactical execution plans and optimization roadmaps.
- Works in conjunction with Search Lead to improve our website in conjunction with our web development teams and agencies.
- Work in close partnership with the internal Search Lead, aligning priorities, testing plans, and performance insights.
- Ultimate oversight for all day-to-day budget and billing activity.
- Execute and optimize paid search campaigns across platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Microsoft Ads) with a strong focus on performance, efficiency, and scalability.
- Responsible for Search Specialist’s management of campaign budgets, pacing, bid adjustments, research and application of taxonomy.
- Actively manages search budgets and pacing to ensure delivery against goals.
- Ensures best practices are applied across all accounts.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and media-mix planning across priority geographies.
- Proactive management of paid search campaigns. (Performance analysis, health checks and campaign management, restructuring, trafficking & optimization)
- Grow and optimize keyword portfolio through rapid testing: data analysis, bid strategy, audience / product, ad copy, landing page, etc.
- Audit campaigns regularly to ensure strategic alignment and technical excellence. (bidding, ad copy, extensions, tracking, taxonomy)
- Develop and maintain robust negative keyword lists and segmentation strategies across brands.
- Testing in support of Incremental tROAS & smart bidding goals.
- Prepare and present performance reports and opportunity discussions with marketing leadership.
- Work with Google, Microsoft, and Search Ads 360 vendor teams to ensure PPC program objectives are met, troubleshoot issues and stay informed of new capabilities for program optimization.
- Expertise in Excel is a must. (vlookup, pivot tables, data visualization)
- Able to work across channels with Programmatic and Paid Social to find opportunities to improve search accounts.
- Stay current on platform updates, industry trends, and emerging search capabilities, and recommend practical applications to the business.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners (e.g., media, analytics, creative, etc.) to ensure search efforts are integrated and impactful.
- Clearly communicate performance insights, learnings, and recommendations to Bayer stakeholders.
- 6-8+ years of hands-on experience managing paid search campaigns.
- Experience managing search campaigns and bid strategies in enterprise level platforms like Search Ads 360, Kenshoo, or Marin.
- Proven ability to balance hands-on execution with strategic thinking and leadership.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into clear, actionable insights.
- Experience mentoring other search practitioners.
- Comfortable taking direction while also confidently providing recommendations and guidance.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Proactive in their recommendations for paid search to improve the consumer search experience.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and apply learnings.
- Open to feedback, eager to learn, and motivated to grow within paid search.
Preferred Qualifications
- Campaign Manager reporting experience.
- Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, & Google Analytics experience.
- Ag industry knowledge is a plus. If not, curiosity is a MUST! Ideally you must have a genuine desire to dig into data and a willingness to learn a new industry that is complex and rewarding season after season.
