The Position:

The Sr. Manager PMO, is accountable for the delivery of complex, cross‑functional initiatives with a significant software component, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, within budget, within scope, and to operational standards. This role leads matrixed teams across product and software development lifecycles. The leader will establish and uphold PMO standards for delivery and will coach teams to drive predictability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop integrated project/program plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation for R&D, software, infrastructure, and other priority initiatives.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams across sites to deliver milestones; drive crisp stakeholder communication, decision logs, and issue/risk management with clear mitigation and escalation paths.
  • Monitor performance against plan (schedule, cost, resources, risk, scope) and maintain single‑source‑of‑truth artifacts and repositories.
  • Partner with PMO leadership and business leaders to align product/program roadmaps to portfolio priorities, capacity, and funding; support quarterly/annual planning.
  • Implement and evolve PMO frameworks, templates, and tooling.
  • Conduct post‑launch reviews and lessons learned to capture outcomes and feed continuous improvement.
  • Accountable for driving the delivery of projects through all stages of the product or project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with enabling teams (Security/Privacy, QA/RA, Data, IT/Cloud) to meet compliance, validation, and operational readiness requirements prior to release.
  • Leverage and govern common toolchains (e.g., Jira/Confluence, Smartsheet) for planning, tracking, and reporting; produce & deliver executive‑ready status and portfolio views.
  • Identify resource needs and collaborate with functional leaders to assign ownership; support vendor/SOW management where external partners are engaged.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are:

  • Minimum of 8 years of project/program management experience in life sciences or adjacent domains (diagnostics, genomics, product development), with meaningful experience leading software‑centric initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in life sciences, computer science, engineering, business, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proficiency with project and portfolio management practices and tools; experience with Jira/Confluence and Smartsheet is ideal; familiarity with Azure DevOps is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and facilitation skills with the ability to influence and drive results across cross‑functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast‑paced environment, adapt to change, and bring structure to ambiguity.
  • Experience collaborating with Product, Engineering/IT, Clinical, Regulatory/Quality, Operations, and Commercial teams; comfort presenting to executive audiences.
  • PMP and/or Agile/Scrum/SAFe certifications preferred.
  • You are a good business partner and a good human.

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience, skillset, geographic location, industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
