Sr. Manager, Data Engineering

• Manage and scale the data platform to handle hundreds of Terabytes of processed data.
• Manage and grow a team of high-performing full-time data engineers as well as an offshore team to deliver against business roadmaps.  
• Engage with a cross functional team of Product Managers, Program Managers, Data & Application Engineers to describe data integration Minimum Viable Product (MVP) including data quality objectives and deliver against the MVP.  
• Engage with the Operations team to outline system and data availability service level agreement (SLA) objectives and track performance against these objectives.  
• Collaborate with stakeholders to establish processes and intake requests.  
• Evolve the architectural capabilities and maturity of the platform by engaging with internal and external Architects and Strategic Partners.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7 years of progressive experience developing data warehousing solutions.
• Work experience to include: 1. Seven years of experience in data modeling, integration, and data management. 2. Seven years of experience as technical lead, establishing processes to enable standardization and simplification in development best practices. 3. Five years of full life cycle experience in data integration and data warehousing. 4. Five years of experience with ETL (extract, transform, load)/ELT (extract, load, transform) development and architectural principles of data integration and data warehousing as applied to business intelligence. 5 Five years of experience with distributed system architecture, design, and development. 6. Five years of experience with data modeling and design considerations for analytical systems. 7. Four years of experience with Cloud Computing platforms, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). 8. Four years of experience leading onsite and offshore teams towards delivering data solutions. 9. Experience working with product management, program management, engineering organizations, and analysts to deliver scalable data products. 10. Presenting tradeoffs to stakeholders while prioritizing initiatives. All experience can be gained concurrently.

• Salary: $224,059.00 to $229,059.00 per year .
• Address of employment: This is a 100% telecommute position. Candidates must reside in a state in which Shutterfly is registered to do business. This includes all US states except District of Columbia, North Dakota, Mississippi, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Wyoming. This position reports to Shutterfly, LLC located at San Jose, CA.
