Role Summary
Sophos is seeking a strategic, experienced PR lead to own and execute our Americas Public Relations strategy — elevating Sophos’ brand presence, thought leadership, and news coverage across North and South America. The Sr Manager, Americas PR will develop and implement impactful media programs that support business priorities, drive consistent storytelling, and amplify Sophos’ brand and position as a cybersecurity industry leader.
This role works closely with the global PR team and external PR agency partners to ensure regional alignment with global narrative frameworks, while tailoring campaigns and media engagement to the Americas market. The role reports to the Senior Director, PR & Communications and will serve as the primary point of contact for PR in the region.
What You Will Do
Public Relations Strategy & Execution
Lead the development and implementation of the Americas PR strategy working across functions (Product, Marketing, Sales & Channel, Leadership, and Regional Teams).
Drive proactive media outreach, press campaigns, and reactive response plans that align with business goals, product launches, and key announcements.
Partner with the global PR team to adapt global messaging for regional audiences while ensuring cohesion across markets.
Manage external agencies in the U.S. and LATAM to serve as a strategic extension of the Sophos team, and scale media visibility across the region.
Media Relations & Thought Leadership
Build and nurture strong relationships with key journalists and industry influencers across the U.S.
Secure top tier coverage in national media outlets, with a particular focus on business, channel, and tech publications
Identify thought leadership opportunities for Sophos executives and subject matter experts, including contributed content, speaking opportunities, and awards submissions.
Prepare spokespeople with messaging, media training, and briefing materials ahead of media opportunities.
Work closely with Marketing, Demand Gen, Product Communications, and Regional Leadership to align PR with broader GTM programs.
Serve as a communications adviser to internal stakeholders to drive consistent and effective external messaging.
Crisis & Critical Communications
Support in managing reputation and handling sensitive issues with timely, strategic responses in collaboration with the global PR team
Partner with cross-functional teams to craft clear, consistent, and audience-driven messaging for external audiences, effectively addressing concerns and mitigating reputational risks.
Measurement & Insights
Track key PR performance metrics and media outcomes to generate insights that inform strategy and investment, in alignment with the global PR measurement approach
Review and manage the local PR budget and goals
Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on coverage quality, share of voice, sentiment, and competitive positioning.
Manage timeline and logistics of all Americas-focused press material to ensure successful launches
What You Will Bring
Industry Experience: 5+ years of experience in PR or corporate communications in cybersecurity and technology.
Media Expertise: Strong relationships with tech and business press across the Americas (primarily the U.S.) and proven ability to secure top-tier media coverage.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute integrated communications strategies that support global and regional objectives.
Leadership & Collaboration: Experience working with global teams and external agencies, managing complex stakeholder relationships.
Writing & Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong storytelling capability.
Analytical Skills: Ability to measure and communicate PR impact through data and actionable insights.
In the United States, the basesalary for this role ranges from $150,000 to $250,000. In addition to base salary, we offeradditional compensation including bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package. Acandidate’s specific pay within this range will depend on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, training, location, experience, relevant education, certifications, and otherbusiness and organizational needs.
