About Tarro

Here at Tarro we build products that empower small brick and mortar restaurants by liberating them of the operational burden of running their business. We accomplish this by providing a frictionless connection between them and their customers through our multi-product ecosystem offering AI-enabled order taking, delivery enablement, payment solutions, and point-of-sale software. At Tarro, we use a combination of bits (technology) and atoms (people) to solve real world problems facing small business owners.

We obsess over placing our customers first and working backwards from there. When our customers succeed, we succeed. The restaurant industry in the US is over a $1 trillion total addressable market (TAM), but remains relatively underserved by technology. Large chains are able to afford expensive tech that gives them a huge advantage; we believe that small restaurant owners deserve access to the same technologies at an affordable price.

Tarro has been profitable for nearly a decade and seen 5x revenue growth in the last three years. As of our last fundraising round in mid-2022, we were valued at $450M and have since seen substantial growth across customer acquisition, product development and company headcount. Thousands of loyal restaurants have entrusted Tarro with their success, and together we have supported nearly 20 million customers. We are proud to be named one of Built In’s top companies to work for in 2023.

What we are looking for:

We are seeking a highly skilled accounting leader to drive our financial integrity and strategic accounting operations. In this capacity, you will own complex technical accounting matters — maintaining and optimizing the general ledger, designing and enforcing robust internal controls, leading month‑end and year‑end close cycles, and ensuring financial statements and reports meet applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. You will also spearhead the development and implementation of accounting policies, continuously improve processes and systems for efficiency and scalability, and provide actionable financial analysis and insight to support higher‑level management decision‑making. Working cross‑functionally with audit, tax and business units, you will ensure the company’s accounting infrastructure supports both current operations and future growth in a compliant, transparent, and strategically aligned manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all global accounting operations and timely, accurate month‑end and year‑end close processes.

  • Conduct balance sheet reviews across all locations and ensure to reconcile balance sheet accounts, bank accounts, fixed‑asset sub‑ledgers, and other key ledgers; investigate and resolve variances or inconsistencies, ensuring the integrity of financial data.

  • Prepare, review and approve consolidated financial statements and related reporting packages (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow), including supporting schedules and variance analyses for management review.

  • Develop, implement and maintain robust accounting policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks — ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g. GAAP or IFRS) and regulatory requirements. This also includes handling technical accounting inquiries and memo preparation

  • Lead and manage accounting staff (journal entry review, reconciliations, close process tasks), providing mentorship, guidance, performance oversight, and ensuring adherence to accounting best practices.

  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with other departments (e.g. operations, budget owners, external auditors, tax, treasury) to ensure transactions are appropriately recorded, financial information is accurate, and organizational financial operations align with business strategies.

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance‑to‑budget analyses — providing analytical insight into financial performance to guide management decision‑making.

  • Spearhead process improvements and system enhancements (ERP/accounting systems, accounting workflow, reporting automation) to improve efficiency, scalability, and accuracy of accounting operations

  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits — preparing audit schedules, liaising with auditors, and ensuring prompt resolution of auditor queries and compliance with audit requirements.

  • Manage the Global Tax Compliance and leads any tax savings initiatives

About you:

  • You are a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), with a solid background in audit or finance — preferably with experience at a Big 4 (or equivalent) public accounting firm

  • You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in audit or financial accounting

  • You have a proven experience in change management or transformation initiatives within a finance or accounting function — including process re‑engineering, system implementation, or finance transformation projects.

  • You have an experience with system roll‑outs or ERP/financial systems implementations — ideally having participated in planning, data migration, configuration, user‑acceptance testing, go‑live and post‑implementation support.

  • You have a strong technical proficiency — advanced skills in Excel, Google Sheets, and/or equivalent spreadsheet tools

  • You have familiarity with or ability to quickly learn enterprise‑grade ERP/accounting systems (experience with Oracle NetSuite is a plus)

  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to articulate complex accounting concepts clearly to both finance and non‑finance stakeholders

  • You have keen attention to detail, high standards of accuracy, and strong organizational skills — able to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines without compromising integrity or quality

  • You are nalytically minded, with strong problem‑solving capability and a mindset geared toward compliance, internal controls, and best‑practice accounting standards
