This position is responsible for the overall health and performance of corporate infrastructure and services. Addresses escalated system and customer issues as directed by the IT (Information Technology) Director, documents, and reviews Standard Operations Procedures (SOP) with team members to assist in ongoing cross training initiatives, configures hardware, writes implementation plans, reviews network documentation for accuracy and creates and manages project plans through completion. Reports issues and assists with a wide range of projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Records, troubleshoots, and resolves application issues and communicates resolutions to end-users.
- Provides application/product subject matter expertise to end-users, business owners, and project teams.
- Builds, tests, and maintains ad-hoc and standard reports for end-users and business owners.
- Prepares test plans and performs application testing and reconciliation.
- Administers and maintains security setup for assigned applications.
- Ensures all servers are patched in a timely manner to reduce vulnerability risks.
- Owns compliance of the computing infrastructure to various regulatory agencies.
- Gathers business requirements from functional departments and develops user requirements documentation for assigned projects.
- Plans and develops training materials and procedures and assists in training end-users as needed.
- Maintains a repository of application documentation (e.g., customer manuals, customer procedures, training manuals).
- Cross train IT and TOC (Technology Operations Center) staff by designing and conducting training programs; providing references and support.
- Meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets; monitoring expenses.

- Assists in creating new security policies and review and revision of existing security policies.
- Mentor associates and fosters a learning and growth environment.
- Serves as Redhat Linux expert, responsible for installing, reconfiguring, patching, Redhat Linux systems for IT, and assisting support and development when needed.
- Utilizes VMware expertise, must be support our VMware infrastructure, and plan for growth or replacement of old systems when needed.
- Tracks, procures, and updates SSL certificates for the company.
- Maintains and updates our Storage Area Networks, and understands how to configure fiber channel fabric.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Red Hat Linux
- Minimum 5–7 years of hands-on experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, including installation, configuration, patching, and performance tuning.
- 3–5 years of experience supporting VMware environments, including planning for capacity and lifecycle management.
- Proven experience maintaining Storage Area Networks (SANs), configuring fiber channel fabrics, and ensuring high availability.
- Working knowledge of network load balancing (HAProxy preferred) and SSL certificate management.
- Experience resolving application issues, performing testing and reconciliation, and supporting business application users.
- Experience maintaining system compliance with IT security and regulatory requirements, including patch management and security policy review.
- Strong understanding of Linux/UNIX system administration principles, scripting, and automation (Ansible a plus).
- Proficient with VMware vSphere and ESXi.
- Working knowledge of security best practices, server hardening
- Solid grasp of networking concepts, including VLANs, routing, and load balancing.
- Understanding of backup and disaster recovery methodologies.
