You would join the Media Infra org as a Senior Software Engineer on the Media SDK team. Media Infra owns the platform that powers all media uploads and playback at LinkedIn. The Media SDK team builds the client-side SDKs and libraries that enable video, image, document, Live, and VC experiences across iOS, Android, and Web. Sitting at the intersection of infrastructure and product, the team’s work directly shapes member-facing experiences at scale.

In this role, you’ll help build and scale the Media SDK that powers media consumption across the app. You’ll work on core playback and rendering infrastructure—such as player architecture, performance, and reliability—while partnering closely with product, infra, and other client teams. The role offers meaningful ownership, high impact, and the opportunity to influence how media works end to end across platforms.

Basic Qualifications

• BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 1+ years of industry experience
• Programming experience in languages such as Objective C, Swift, C/C++, Python etc.
 

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline.

 

 

Suggest Skills

  • Strong expertise in iOS development using Swift (and Objective-C), with a solid grasp of app and view lifecycle.

  • Deep understanding of iOS frameworks (UIKit/SwiftUI, networking, concurrency, memory management).

  • Proven ability to design clean, maintainable APIs and reusable components in large iOS codebases.

  • Strong debugging and performance-tuning skills (Instruments, memory leaks, startup, UI performance).

  • Experience building scalable client-side architectures and collaborating across product and infra teams.

  • Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals, async workflows, and reliability in mobile environments.

  • Strong code quality mindset: testing, reviews, refactoring, and long-term maintainability.

  • Bonus: experience with media playback and performance (AVPlayer, VideoToolbox, rendering pipelines, streaming formats), and familiarity with video, image, or document media domains.

The pay range for this role is $125,000 to $206,000 . Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
