Sr. Integration & Automation Engineer

Position Overview:

MARA is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Integration & Automation Engineer to own and manage our integration and automation platforms. You will lead the design, development, monitoring, and maintenance of workflows across systems such as NetSuite, Workday, Salesforce, Asset Panda, and other internal applications - ensuring robust connectivity, data integrity, and SOX-compliant controls. This role reports to the VP of IT and plays a critical part in scaling our operations securely and efficiently.

This role will work closely with system owners across Finance, HR, Legal, Investor Relations, Corporate Development, IT and Compliance, to design and deliver secure, scalable solutions. This role will also collaborate with external vendors and implementation partners when needed, ensuring integrations and automations align with both business objectives and compliance requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Act as primary owner and developer for MARA’s iPaaS environment (Workato preferred; Mulesoft, Celigo, or Boomi acceptable if certified).
• Design and build integration workflows (“recipes”) connecting NetSuite, Workday, Salesforce, Asset Panda, and other systems.
• Implement API-based integrations (REST/SOAP), data transformations (JSON/XML/CSV), logging, error handling, retry logic, and alerting.
• Ensure all integrations meet SOX / ICFR control requirements including change management, version control, access restrictions, and auditability.
• Establish and maintain monitoring, alerting, and performance dashboards to meet SLA expectations.
• Conduct root cause analysis of integration failures and deploy fixes or improvements proactively.
• Collaborate with IT SOX, People Systems Administrator, Business Systems Analysts, Finance, HR, and other stakeholders to gather integration requirements.
• Lead testing protocols: unit, integration, regression, UAT, and deployment (including cutover and rollback plans).
• Document technical workflows, data mappings, integration runbooks, and user guides.

Required

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience with an iPaaS platform. Workato certification strongly preferred, Mulesoft / Celigo / Boomi also acceptable if certified.
• Experience integrating multiple systems (e.g., NetSuite, Workday, Salesforce, etc.) at more than one company.
• At least one prior role at a public company, with understanding of SOX / ICFR audit implications.
• Deep technical proficiency with REST / SOAP APIs, JSON / XML, data transformation, authentication protocols (OAuth, SAML), and connectors.
• Strong understanding of SOX / ICFR requirements, particularly around change control, segregation of duties, and audit logging.
• Proficiency in SQL and scripting (JavaScript, Python, Groovy, or similar).
• Excellent troubleshooting skills, diagnostics, and resolution of complex issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of interfacing with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Highly organized, self-directed, and able to manage competing priorities independently.

Preferred

• Experience with high-volume or real-time batch integrations, EDI, or external partner integrations.
• Knowledge of Finance or HR systems (GL, O2C, P2P, payroll, workforce management).
• Exposure to workflow automation / RPA / Intelligent Document Processing (IDP).
• Familiarity with DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, Git-based source control for integration artifacts.

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Certifications such as CISA, CIA, or CPA are a plus.
• Prior experience in a public company or high-growth technology environment is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with segregation of duties (SoD), application controls, and automated financial controls is a plus.
