As the Senior Events Technology Manager, you will own and shape AppFolio’s event technology ecosystem. You’ll evaluate how we plan and execute events today, define a clear path forward, and use the right tools and platforms to elevate the quality, efficiency, and impact of our event experiences.
You will own the technical lifecycle of our events—from complex registration workflows to deep data integration—ensuring every digital touchpoint is seamless, data-driven, and impactful.
Your Impact
Event Systems Design: Lead the build and configuration of advanced registration workflows in Cvent, including custom forms, payment processing, and confirmation logic for in-person, virtual, and hybrid environments.
Strategic Data Integration: Manage the bi-directional sync between Cvent and Marketo, ensuring event status updates (Registered, Attended, No Show) trigger automated nurturing and real-time sales alerts.
Salesforce Ecosystem Management: Map event data fields from Cvent and Jifflenow to Salesforce to maintain high data integrity; link registrations to Leads/Contacts and oversee lead scoring and routing.
Advanced Analytics & Visualization: In partnership with Marketing Ops, design and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards to visualize event ROI, pipeline impact, and budget performance.
Operational Excellence: Serve as the technical lead for meeting management via Jifflenow and pioneer the use of AI tools to improve event planning efficiency and execution.
Collaboration & Leadership: Elevate the collective output of the Marketing Events team by mentoring peers on technical best practices and dreaming big to disrupt status-quo event operations.
Qualifications
Expert Domain Knowledge: Proven experience managing a complex event technology stack, specifically acting as a power user for Cvent and Jifflenow.
Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of CRM and MAP ecosystems (Salesforce and Marketo), including campaign management, data mapping, and API-based data sourcing.
Data-Driven Mindset: Ability to build sophisticated reports and interactive dashboards in Tableau; you thrive on healthy debate fueled by data to own your results.
Strategic Change Management: Experience auditing legacy processes and implementing new, scalable technical solutions that reduce mundane tasks and increase autonomy.
Collaborative Spirit: A "Paddle as One" mentality, thriving in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment where you prioritize clear communication and transparency.
Must Haves
BA/BS degree or higher.
6+ years in event marketing and conference management, with extensive experience with event technology platforms.
Significant experience with Cvent (registration, payment processing, and hybrid event modules).
Expertise in Salesforce (Sales Cloud) and Marketo integration logic.
A passion for industry-leading innovation and a relentless drive to "Raise the Bar" in event technology.
Travel is 20-30% for onsite events.

Compensation & Benefits
The compensation that we reasonably expect to pay for this role is: $94,400 to $118,000 [base pay]. The actual compensation for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, education, experience, and internal equity.
Please note that compensation is just one aspect of a comprehensive Total Rewards package. The compensation range listed here does not include additional benefits or any discretionary bonuses you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type.
