Sr. ESH Engineer (System Improvement)

TLDR

Lead ESH improvement projects, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with safety regulations while fostering a strong safety culture and developing site-specific EHS management systems.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Preferably a licensed engineer.
  • With a least (3) years of experience in ESH systems development and implementation.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
  • DOLE Accredited Safety Practitioner or Consultant
  • Accredited Pollution Control Officer.
  • Familiarity with ESH software platforms and data analytics tools.
  • Experience with ISO standards and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership, effective communication skills
  • Key Job Functions
  • Compliance and Regulatory Management: Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, NEA). This includes managing environmental permits (air, water, waste) and acting as the site liaison for regulatory agencies.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct complex Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP), and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) to minimize risk.
  • EHS System Management: Develop and maintain the site-specific EHS management system (ISO 14001/45001).
  • Auditing and Inspection: Perform regular audits, inspections, and Industrial Hygiene (IH) monitoring (noise, chemical exposure).
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents, near-misses, and root cause analysis, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Training and Culture Development: Conduct safety training programs to foster a strong safety culture and provide technical expertise to employees.
  • Project Management: Lead ESH improvement projects and support engineering/maintenance teams in implementing Process Safety Management (PSM) elements.
