Sr. Enterprise Engineer, IT Asset Management

TLDR

Lead the design and implementation of Asset Management tooling and processes while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance compliance, optimization, and data integrity.

We are looking for a Senior Enterprise Engineer for IT Asset Management who can lead in designing and implementing Asset Management tooling, business processes; develop and maintain policies, standards, processes, controls and measurements that enable the organization to manage the Technology Asset Portfolio with respect to cost, control, compliance and business performance objectives.  

This role will have the opportunity to collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure that overall business objectives are met. This role will contribute meaningfully to the Hardware and Software Asset management programs by elevating value through maturity in tooling, stringent data quality controls and operational excellence. This will include work (but not limited to) in acquisition, product offerings and transitions, compliance, asset disposals and life-cycle planning for LinkedIn technology assets.

Responsibilities:

Hardware Asset Management (HAM):

  • Onboard IT assets into the asset database and implement processes and technology.

  • Manage end-to-end lifecycle of hardware assets (laptops, servers, network devices, peripherals).

  • Maintain accurate inventory records (asset tags, serial numbers, location, ownership).

  • Oversee IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) for secure and timely disposal of retired equipment.

  • Manage asset database architecture and integrations with monitoring tools for data quality.

  • Optimize HAM workflows in ServiceNow or equivalent platforms.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational purchasing and refresh policies.

Software Asset Management (SAM):

  • Govern software license compliance and optimize usage across enterprise applications.

  • Manage SAM tool data through APIs and integrations for actionable insights.

  • Monitor license positions, identify cost-saving opportunities, and prepare audit-ready documentation.

  • Enforce third-party software approval processes in collaboration with stakeholders.

Governance & Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain asset management policies, standards, and procedures.

  • Generate reports on asset health, compliance, and financial impact for leadership.

  • Drive automation and AI/ML-based improvements in asset management.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

  • Partner with procurement for BOM (Bill of Materials) validation and shipping notifications.

  • Work with Finance on depreciation, write-offs, and cost allocation.

  • Coordinate with Security teams for compliance and risk mitigation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree in Operations, Computer Science, Business or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Program and Project Management skills 

  • 5+ years of experience in IT asset management, procurement or vendor management in a technology environment.

  • ServiceNow ticketing and ServiceNow HAM experience is required

  • Data foundation skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in hardware supply chain, asset management, procurement or vendor management in a technology environment.

  • Experience in ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library)

  • Experience in building integrations between systems through API’s

  • Constructing workflows for problem solving

  • Experience with IT Asset Dispositions programs

  • IAITAM/CITAM or equivalent certification
