Lead the design and development of innovative frame carrier assemblies while ensuring component integrity and quality across various engineering projects.
Key Functional Responsibilities:
Report to COE (Center of Excellence) for Axle & Mounts to technical direction and project interface/team to prioritise the programme objectives.
Design and Develop Frame Carrier for various range of extension projects from pre-concept to serial production with B2P Suppliers.
Create Project Plans for component, system and vehicle level. Highlight any deviation from plan at the earliest opportunity and instigate recovery plans.
Ensure component meets program cost, quality and relevant attributes targets set.
Create robust specifications/SORs and release to support all build phases in line with Vehicle Milestone targets.
Own all aspects of the design release process including initial release into PLM, change management, BOM updates and other necessary documentation
Ensure component integration with the surroundings through Interference Dimension Checks etc.
Creating and arranging a comprehensive validation plan both analytical and physical, with ability to interpret results or suggest corrective measures to reach correct result.
Supporting vehicle test/build activities, providing solutions to issues
Ensure all technical aspects of component development and creation of documents listed (e.g. GD&T, DFMEA’s, DVP Component/System/Vehicle, Significant/Critical Characteristics, Materials, Finish specifications)
Present module status clearly, factually and technically within relevant meetings
Experience

Minimum experience of 8 years working in Automotive Projects for chassis structural frames i.e Subframes. Detailed knowledge and experience in structural design, validation and manufacturing as B2P (Business to People) commodity.

Highly proficient in UGNX and Teamcenter (PLM) is MUST.

Capable to bring the concept design to volume production

Fluency in English is required, experience in multi-cultural environment is an added advantage.
Education
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering.
Additional valued competences:
Passionate in Automotive
Good knowledge of other Chassis Systems like suspension, steering, tires, knuckles, sub-frames etc.
Knowledge of vehicle manufacturing and assembly
Familiar to automotive design and development processes.
Functional safety understanding

Valuable knowledge of performing kinematics analysis on UG
Others
Should have a valid passport. Candidate will have to travel to client’s base location to support onsite activities for vehicle build and design on frequently basis Or to be stationed there for onsite support for approx. 3 years. (Based on the client’s requirement)
