SUMMARY:
Leading the marketing strategy efforts for Protective’s growing asset protection division and our enterprise and operations marketing support, this position drives the development and commercialization of holistic value propositions to achieve business growth. This role leverages industry expertise and commercial awareness to align marketing strategies with business goals, ensuring impactful outcomes, sustainable growth and competitive advantage. The Sr. Director of marketing strategy is responsible for a team that develops and executes strategic marketing initiatives that drive financial and operational performance across their respective lines of business. The role will partner with executive leadership in product development, sales, HR, operations, business strategy and the Protective Foundation to leverage insights and build go to market plans.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Translates divisional strategy into actionable marketing plans that deliver measurable impact on business performance.
Leads teams of line of business marketing strategists, ensuring alignment and integration of marketing initiatives across multiple segments.
Maintains comprehensive understanding of internal and industry standards, market dynamics, and regulatory environment.
Applies commercial insights to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation in marketing approaches.
Drives financial and operational performance through effective resource allocation, cost-benefit analysis, and oversight
Negotiates with and influences senior executives within and outside the department to ensure strategic alignment and common, achievable goals are set for the department
RELATIONSHIPS AND COMMUNICATION
Establishes and maintains close working relationships with management throughout the company, particularly focusing on partnering with line of business stakeholders within the asset protection and operations areas as well as our corporate functions.
Builds collaboration within own team as well as across the marketing department to achieve common goals and best possible outcomes
Leads team to ensure clear and positive information flow back and forth between line of business stakeholders and marketing at all levels
Works closely with asset protection and operations leadership to provide a constant flow of information including progress on key initiatives.

Effectively manages investments in various strategic initiatives while also managing routine operational expenses in collaboration with campaign strategy.
Monitors issues, performance and standards. Takes appropriate actions such as re-establishing priorities, re-allocating resources or coordinating with other areas to expedite completion of initiatives and maintenance of an efficient and productive organization.
Demonstrates a high level of financial literacy to effective manage expenses and capital spending.
Performs careful, well-analyzed and researched cost-benefit analysis to drive decision making and provides subsequent outcomes-based updates.
BUSINESS ACUMEN AND IMPACT
Accountable for the performance and results of the line of business marketing strategy group within the division.
Maintains general understanding of internal and industry standards, market dynamics, and regulatory environment.
Leverages customer and industry insights to identify opportunities for differentiation in marketing approach
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
An undergraduate degree in marketing or other quantitative discipline is required; a Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
10 to 15 years of experience in a senior marketing role. Prior experience within asset protection or property and casualty is preferred.
Integrity and strong interpersonal skills are essential to succeed. Respect for others’ ideas in the workplace is critical, and diplomacy and motivational skills are necessary. The successful candidate should be a good listener with a commitment to service and support. They should develop talent and lead strong talent within the organization for future growth.
A well-respected, entrepreneurial professional with proven skills in strategic thinking, long- and short-term planning, team-building, problem solving and decision making.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others and build business relationships with other senior executives.
Provides industry advice and expertise to solve complex problems and issues.
Strong negotiation and facilitation skills with the ability to motivate, persuade and build consensus.
