About the Role

Reporting to the Vice President/Senior Vice President of Market Access, the Director/Senior Director Manager of Market Access Strategy & Pricing Operations is a core member of the market access leadership team and will design, implement, and support execution of the pricing and contracting strategy and the value proposition of Tarsus products.  This individual will lead a team to design the market access payer and pricing strategy for targeted therapeutic pipeline and business development opportunities. He/she will be responsible for working closely with internal stakeholders to include but not limited to finance, legal, accounting, operations, medical (health economics and outcomes), sales, marketing, business development, corporate IR, and payer field team.

The position collaborates across home office & field leadership to ensure materials and messaging are executed in an impactful way to payer, pharmacy, and physician customers to secure affordable and broad access for current and future Tarsus products.

Let’s talk about some of the key responsibilities of the role:

Contract & Pricing Operations:

  • Develop market pricing and contracting strategies to provide broad access and affordability to pipeline assets
  • Serve as Pricing (STAR) Committee lead and manage agenda and content for meetings, in accordance with STAR Charter and all relevant SOPs
  • Oversee contract execution and monitor performance over time including leading GTN Market Access inputs and management, communicating ongoing updates to relevant internal stakeholders
  • Implement list price changes in accordance with established Tarsus SOPs and ensure pricing compendia are loaded timely and correctly, including any pricing updates
  • Collaborate with leadership, Payer Account leads, and reimbursement teams to ensure support, tools, and messaging development and implementation
  • Lead a team responsible for the analysis and implementation of US contracting strategies, provide timely contract updates and ensure we meeting deliverables
  • Lead the market access forecast process throughout the year and ensure dashboards and KPIs are monitored, communicated, and delivered

Access Marketing & Business Development:

  • Collaborate with the VP, Market Access to plan and drive organizational market access strategies and capabilities, along with developing and implementing brand aligned marketing messaging
  • Lead development of resourcing plan to identify new materials and initiatives that differentiate (payer value proposition and affordability messaging)
  • Demonstrate leadership with internal stakeholders to facilitate alignment of product strategies, pricing, and pull and push-through of access opportunities & barriers
  • Deliver thought leadership and strategic guidance on a unified team strategy narrative and collaborate with broader internal stakeholders to support priorities
  • Support annual planning including being responsible for identifying, evaluating, analyzing, and recommending strategic approaches and ensuring they are effectively executed
  • Contribute strategic input on pipeline and business development opportunities
  • Oversees budget for entire market access to ensure priorities achieved to deliver on goals balanced with the financial objectives of the commercial organization

Factors for Success:

  • BS/BA, 15+ years marketing, pharmaceutical sales or market access launch experience or other relevant commercial experience
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal and presentation), interpersonal influencing and prioritization skills required with proven ability to influence across matrixed organizations including influencing without authority
  • Must have learning agility with a high-level of motivation, self-direction, responsiveness, and a strong ability to find creative solutions to challenging, unstructured situations
  • Must have the ability to develop and maintain trusted relationships with internal partners and effectively work well in teams
  • Strong understanding of both payer and provider reimbursement dynamics, formulary placement, difference between payer and provider contracting, etc)

The expected base pay range for this position is $247,500 - $346,500 plus bonus, stock equity, and comprehensive benefits. The base pay range reflects the target range for this position, but individual pay will be determined by additional factors such as job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
