Sr. Director, ClubBuy

TLDR

Drive the strategic vision and operational performance of Versant’s Group Purchasing Program while enhancing member engagement and supplier relationships.

The Senior Director of ClubBuy is a leadership role responsible for driving the strategic vision, operational execution, and financial performance of Versant’s Group Purchasing Program (GPO/GPP), ClubBuy. This role will drive the relationship with our GPO partner, lead development of supplier contracts, member engagement strategies, performance tracking, and cross-functional collaboration to maximize value for both Versant and ClubBuy members. 

Job Duties

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Define and continuously evolve the strategic direction and goals for ClubBuy to support organizational growth and member value creation
    • Analyze market and spend data to identify opportunities, trends, and differentiation strategies 
    • Partner with senior leadership to align program strategy with corporate priorities and financial objectives 
  • Supplier/Contract Management
    • Lead negotiation and management of vendor agreements ensuring competitive pricing and quality
    • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships that support program goals and deliverables 
  • Member Engagement and Growth
    • Serve as primary sponsor for ClubBuy member experience including onboarding, support, communications, and customer success 
    • Boost program engagement and retention through targeted initiatives, value messaging, and performance outcomes
  • Operations/Metrics
    • Oversee day-to-day ClubBuy operations ensuring efficient processes and exception service delivery 
    • Establish and maintain KPI’s and reporting dashboards for spend, savings, contract utilization, revenue, and vendor performance
  • Team Leadership
    • Recruit, coach, and develop high-performing ClubBuy team 
    • Set performance goals, conduct performance reviews, and mentor staff for career growth
    • Foster collaboration across departments including Sales, Finance, Marketing, Legal

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in procurement, group purchasing, strategic sourcing, broadline food distribution, or related functions
  • Strong understanding of procurement principles, spend analysis, and vendor management best practices 
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategy, manage complex projects, and drive measurable business outcomes
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills 
  • Salesforce (CRM) knowledge and operations 
  • Comfortable presenting to executive leadership and external partners
  • Demonstrated success in building strategic supplier alliances and delivering cost savings and value to members
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a focus on results and innovation 

Additional Job Requirements

  • Willingness to travel, work overtime, weekends, and holidays, sometimes with short notice.
  • Must be willing to work in Orlando, FL or within assigned markets for this role.
  • This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office/home office a minimum of three days per week.
