VERSES is hiring this role to design and develop optimization algorithms, models and solutions for challenging problems in logistics and supply chains. Your work will have direct and immediate impact on the next generation of enterprise software that fulfills the promise of real-time data streams, and spatial analytics. You will collaborate with our talented team of data analysts, software engineers and solution engineers.

Essential Functions - a/k/a Your Mission

• Own data science pipeline for specific products, from data ingestion and engineering to deployment
• Select appropriate techniques and algorithms to solve optimization problems from a wide - machine learning, statistical modeling, agent-based simulation
• Develop prototypes into industry-grade solutions
  
• Write properly documented and tested code
  
• Evaluate model outputs using both technical and business metrics
• Collaborate with solution engineers to ensure solutions fulfill business and feature requirements
• Collaborate with production engineers to refactor code for production, and integrate data science solutions into software
  
• Deliver solutions on schedule, and provide interim progress updates to managers
• Participate in project management process

Requirements

Great to Haves

• Master's degree or above in relevant fields such as Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science and Applied Mathematics, or related years of work experience
• 5+ years of industry experience in a quantitative role
• Demonstrated success in at least one deployed product
• Proficient in SQL, Python, R or related coding languages
• Team player attitude

• Experience in any of the following areas: spatial statistics, GIS, supply chain/logistics, SAP, transportation, simulation, graph databases, IoT, stochastic / dynamic optimization, 3D visualization, computer vision, enterprise software, REST/GraphQL APIs
• Maturity in balancing business and technical goals
• Good time management skills

• The pay range for our roles are market based and commensurate with skills and experience; with this role starting at $160,000
