Sr Data Engineer (Remote - US)

As a Sr Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining modern, scalable data solutions in a cloud-based environment. You will work closely with a collaborative team to develop ELT pipelines, data marts, and other data products that support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence needs. This role involves both creating new solutions and optimizing legacy pipelines across on-premises and cloud systems. You will contribute to the technical strategy, ensure data quality and performance, and mentor team members to foster a culture of excellence. Accountabilities:

·        Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT pipelines and data marts to support internal analytics and external reporting.

·        Collaborate with team members to break down requirements into user stories, estimate complexity, and deliver high-quality solutions.

·        Provide technical expertise in architecture, design, implementation, and testing, ensuring performance, security, and maintainability.

·        Maintain and enhance legacy data pipelines spanning on-premises and cloud environments.

·        Ensure production readiness of features through test-driven development and thorough quality assurance.

·        Provide operational support, including on-call availability, for owned components.

·        Mentor team members, share knowledge, and drive continuous improvement and innovation across systems.

Requirements

·        Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.

·        4+ years of advanced SQL programming experience.

·        2+ years working with AWS services such as Step Functions, Glue, Lambda, Redshift/RDS, and CloudFormation.

·        Proficiency in Python development and source code management tools (e.g., Git).

·        Experience with unit testing and deploying code via CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or GitHub Actions).

·        Familiarity with data warehousing and handling large-scale databases (>1TB).

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

·        Experience with modern data architectures and cloud-native data solutions.

·        Proven ability to optimize and troubleshoot complex data pipelines.

Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills
