Fluidra is looking for a Sr. Buyer, New Product Development (NPD) to join our team in Carlsbad, CA. 
  
WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE  
The Sr. Buyer, NPD focuses on operational excellence in procurement and supply chain processes, ensuring timely sourcing and delivery of components for innovative swimming pool products in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent projects. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is strategic thinking, highly organized, proactive and has a strong understanding of supply chain processes and supplier management. Additionally, you will:
 
  • Work closely with Engineering, R&D, Quality, and Program Management teams to understand product requirements and translate them into procurement actions.
  • Acting as the Supply Chain team's representative in multiple project meetings, providing valuable input on supply-related matters as they arise.
  • Source and purchase materials, components, and tooling for new product development initiatives, ensuring alignment with project timelines and specifications.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers capable of supporting prototype and pre-production needs. Collaborating with Sourcing team to get the best negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms.
  • Accountable for meeting project deadlines related to the supply process, often working within lead times to accelerate schedules and ensure timely project launches.
  • Partnered with the Sourcing team to identify long lead-time items and initiate procurement processes outside the MRP system to maintain project timelines when required.
  •  Responsible for updating and maintaining all item attributes for new product introduction in the data integrity database, and accountable for ensuring timely completion of related tasks.
  • Managed coordination with the Sourcing team to gather detailed information on new suppliers and negotiate terms prior to project moved to execution.
  • Manage the phase-in and phase-out process for products that cannibalize each other to minimize excess inventory and prevent obsolescence.
  • Maintain clear communication with the operations buyer regarding project milestones and the final transition from MSL through Pilot to Launch phases.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities, including RFQs, POs, payments and supplier communications related to projects.
  • Support cost analysis and budgeting for NPD projects.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and cost savings
WHAT WE SEEK
  • 5+ years in procurement or supply chain operations, with significant exposure to NPD projects
  • Strong understanding of sourcing strategies, supplier development, and cost analysis.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Understanding about Demand Planning and Forecasting.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems preferably Oracle and Epicor.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, technical drawings, and the Bill of Materials analysis is required.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field

Expected salary range is $85,000 - $90,000. Fluidra offers a comprehensive total rewards / benefits program that includes base salary, annual bonus based on performance of individual and company objectives, competitive 401K matching, paid vacation and sick time, full range of health benefits, educational assistance, etc. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience and location.
