Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise.

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced, commodity-oriented, and results-driven Senior Buyer to join our Purchasing team in a fast-paced, evolving aerospace environment. The Senior Buyer will manage work with Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Finance to ensure timely, cost-effective material availability that supports our aggressive production schedule and milestones.

What you’ll do:

  • Place purchase orders for production of aircraft material as required by SAP MRP and manufacturing build schedule
  • Manage ordering activities for aircraft material and supporting goods and services, including but not limited to the creation and management of all flows to and from Archer Supply  base (Purchase Orders, Transfer Orders, Return), indirect purchases
  • Responsible for management and accuracy of open Purchase Orders
  • Resolve complex problems across multiple processes, systems and teams, working with cross-functional stakeholders to meet the immediate needs & implement long-term solutions
  • Establish and maintain supplier relationships to drive on-time material deliveries and mitigate supplier risk and schedule delays
  • Support pre-SIOP activities, including (but not limited to) projections vs actuals, PPV reporting
  • Resolve invoicing discrepancies to insure timely supplier payments
  • Source aircraft material as needed
  • Support procurement/engineering projects as needed.
  • Travel may be required but on an infrequent basis

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Supply Chain and/or 5+ years of relevant experience/education
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and highly regulated environment
  • Experienced and proficient user of SAP ERP or equivalent
  • Experienced with NPI & production purchasing environments
  • Detail-oriented, results-driven, and strong team player
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite & Google Workspace
  • Understanding of Purchasing best practices
  • Effective communicator

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Aerospace and/or Automotive experience a plus
  • Knowledge of Project Management methodologies and techniques a plus
  • APICS certification

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s strategy. For this position, we are targeting a base pay range of $94,000 - $125,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
