Sr Business Intelligence Engineer

Opportunity Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to join our Intelligence team. In this role, you will design, build, and optimize scalable data models and analytical assets that power reporting and self-service analytics across the organization. You will play a key role in strengthening our BI ecosystem by partnering closely with data platforms, and product teams to deliver high-quality, governed, and performant datasets and dashboards, while upholding best practices and standards..

What you’ll do:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into functional requirements.
• Design, develop, and maintain BI reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, etc.).   
• Build and optimize Tableau dashboards and KPI frameworks with a focus on performance, usability, governance, and row-level security.
• Ensure data consistency and quality in reports by working closely with the data management team.
• Apply best practices in dbt modeling, testing, version control, and release management to ensure high-quality, maintainable pipelines.
• Perform data analysis and ad-hoc queries to support business decision-making.
• Stay current with industry best practices and emerging BI technologies.

What you’ll need:

Must-haves

• 6+ years of professional experience in business intelligence, analytics engineering, or data engineering, preferably in healthcare or another data-rich, regulated domain.
• Self-starter, able to work independently, able to succeed in a fast-paced, high intensity start-up environment
• Excellent english communication skills, with proven ability to create & deliver the results of analyses to non-technical audiences
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and strong hands-on experience with analytics engineering frameworks such as dbt.
• Strong experience with Tableau (Cloud and Desktop), including dashboard development, row-level security, performance optimization, and basic administration.
• Experience working with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow.
• Experience working in AWS-based data platforms.

• Experience with dbt or with similar tools
• Experience with Python.
• Exposure to additional BI platforms such as Power BI, Sisense, or open-source BI tools.
• Experience supporting dashboard embedding and integration into web applications.
• Background in healthcare payer analytics, utilization management, or clinical workflows.
• Previous experience working in a global model
