The Sr. Application Engineer, Alternative Fuels and Raw Materials, CLP/FPP (AFR Application Engineer) is a multifaceted role requiring an in-depth understanding of BEUMER products and applications for alternative fuels and raw materials handling in the cement and other applicable industries. This position is responsible for analyzing customer requirements and developing innovative solutions. The Sr. AFR Application Engineer is responsible for supporting the Sales team in developing the best technical solutions as per the customers´ individual requirements to successfully turn opportunities into orders. During the project execution the candidate will be responsible for the application engineering while ensuring local standards and regulations will be met. The Sr. AFR Application Engineer will serve as the regional AFR technical expert in the North American region and closely collaborate with BEUMER´s technical center of competence in the Czech Republic as he will be a member of BEUMER´s global technical AFR team.
Key Responsibilities:
Subject Matter Expertise:
- Serve as an expert in BEUMER products and applications for alternative fuels and raw materials handling
- Be part of BEUMER´s global AFR specialist team
- Manage the center of competence and supporting departments on the specific opportunity or project to support regional Sales and Project Management
- Stay up to date on industry trends and developments and provide input to BEUMER´s AFR R&D team
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with regional and global Sales and tendering to provide unique and highly competitive technical solutions and applications to the North American customers
- Ensure that local requirements / standards are being implemented in BEUMER´s regional offering
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers, providing pre-sales and post-sales support throughout the sales process.
- Support regional project management during project execution on all relevant application engineering tasks
- Manage external vendors / engineering companies during Sales and Tendering as well as project management phase
- Support BEUMER procurement with technical documentation / requirements for RFQs and purchase orders
- Manage external 3rd party engineering companies on engineering tasks as e.g. local PE stamping, fire-fighting concepts etc.
- Produce / manage preparation of technical documents, including proposals, process flows, user manuals, and application notes
- Work with Sales to transition proposals to orders
Annual compensation range: $125,000.00 - $135,000.00 annually
The posted salary range reflects the compensation the company reasonably expects to offer for this position. Actual compensation will not be less than the posted minimum and will be based on multiple factors.
Key Requirements and Professional Attributes:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
- 5 - 8 years of experience in technical sales or engineering
- Strong time management and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High computer literacy in MS Office Suite
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D modeling with preferred experience in AutoCAD and SolidEdge
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Active listening for customer satisfaction and technical insight
- Preferred experience automated systems, and MS Excel/VBA programming
- Ability to set and meet goals, care for others, and work collaboratively in a team.
- Ability to travel as per business needs. Estimated travel is 10-20%.
