POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Senior Analyst will work collaboratively with Winrock’s Sustainability Services team to support Winrock’s work with clients in the food, land, and agriculture (FLAG) sector. The Sustainability Services team supports corporate clients in the FLAG sector to identify decarbonization opportunities, ensure adherence to GHG calculation methodologies and relevant standards, and provide technical expertise to clients on a broad range of GHG mitigation and agricultural topics.  The Senior Analyst will perform administrative and project coordination tasks, in addition to contributing technical expertise to ongoing projects.

Specifically, Winrock is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented analyst with a strong background in project coordination and technical expertise and knowledge of climate mitigation strategies in the agricultural sector. Familiarity with climate standards such as the GHG Protocol Corporate Suite of Standards and the Science Based Target Initiative guidance is a plus. Demonstrated experience with project management and coordination is required.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Analyst supports the Associate Director, Sustainability Services on managing projects that help clients within the FLAG sector achieve their climate mitigation strategies. The Senior Analyst will support administrative and operational work across the Sustainability Services team, and Project Management and Technical support within the Food and Agriculture unit.  

Administrative Support:

  1. Budget management support including updating project budgets and monitoring spending levels as directed for multiple projects for Sustainability Services
  2. Prepare and disseminate routine internal coordination reports documenting programmatic activities and administrative/operational/financial tasks’ status and action points.
  3. Compile or prepare documentation for consultant agreements, partner agreements, and procurement processes
  4. Support new business and operational processes in alignment with Winrock’s policies
  5. Manage logistics for events such as project presentations, team retreats, meetings and conferences, and other outreach efforts.
  6. Coordinate compliance with Winrock’s policies, procedures and contractual obligations for procurement, subcontracts, HR, consultants’ agreements, financial transactions (including client invoicing and consultant reimbursements), project closeout, or any other project management task.

Project Coordination & Technical Support:

  1. Lead or support quantitative and qualitative analyses in support of technical deliverables related to GHG mitigation in the agricultural sector
  2. Draft and support the completion of client deliverables, including memos, presentations, and weekly or monthly communication
  3. Support the management of an internal project management system that Sustainability Services uses to track progress against project deliverables
  4. Support Knowledge Management across the Sustainability Services team
  5. Review, edit and format technical reports and deliverables and ensure compliant uploads to client/donor repositories.
  6. Input information into relevant databases and project trackers, support monitoring and evaluation processes, and link project data with required client reporting.
  7. Assist organizing and coordinating internal and external meetings, record meeting minutes, and ensure follow-up of next steps.
  8. Provide ongoing support in monitoring, tracking, and troubleshooting program implementation.
  9. Perform other tasks as assigned.

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software, including Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel is preferred.
  • Fluent in English, fluency in other language is a plus.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; master degree preferred.

Experience: 2 year minimum of professional work experience in the sustainability or environmental field. Experience working directly within the Food, Land, and Agriculture sector strongly preferred.

Language: English professional-level oral and written fluency required.  

Required Travel: Up to 10% travel, domestic and internationally. 

Location: Remote, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington DC, Wisconsin will be considered. Working hours are EST/CT.

The salary range for this role is between $68,000-$73,000 for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including relevant skills and experience, geographic location, and internal equity considerations.
