We are seeking an experienced SQL Server Developer with knowledge of C#/.NET for a long-term contract engagement supporting enterprise application development, data-driven systems, and ongoing platform enhancements. This role will work closely with application developers, business analysts, and infrastructure teams to design, develop, optimize, and support high-performance database solutions and integrated C# applications.

This is a hands-on role ideal for a senior-level developer who is comfortable owning database design, performance tuning, and application integration in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases, schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, and functions

  • Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and execution plans to ensure performance and scalability

  • Understanding of C#/.NET applications and services that interact with SQL Server databases

  • Collaborate with application teams to design efficient data access patterns

  • Support data migrations, enhancements, and ongoing production support

  • Troubleshoot and resolve database and application performance issues

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to development standards and best practices

  • Document database designs, data flows, and technical solutions

  • Work with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical implementations

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server

  • Strong expertise in:

    • T-SQL

    • Stored procedures, functions, triggers

    • Indexing and query performance tuning

  • 3+ years of professional experience with C# and .NET (Framework or .NET Core)

  • Experience building and supporting data-driven applications

  • Familiarity with ORM tools (Entity Framework or similar)

  • Experience with source control (Git, Azure DevOps, or similar)

  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

  • Ability to work independently in a contract environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, etc.)

  • Experience with APIs and service-based architectures

  • Knowledge of data security, compliance, and role-based access controls

  • Experience in regulated or enterprise environments (healthcare, finance, government, etc.)
