Spring/Summer Engineering Co-op

Position Summary 

At bioMerieux, our dedication to public health is the thread that connects everything we do.  We pioneer, develop, and produce high-quality in vitro diagnostic solutions that help healthcare professionals quickly and reliably determine a pathology or the source of contamination and provide them with crucial information for optimal patient care.  Be a part of the team responsible for deploying and sustaining the manufacturing of this life-saving equipment.  You will work in a dynamic environment with a cross-functional team including R&D, engineering, production, quality assurance, quality control, purchasing, supply chain logistics, and several others. This role focuses on applying Design for Manufacturability and Assembly concepts along with developing real-world skills among our engineers, software developers, microbiologists, and numerous other professionals.

Primary Duties

1.        Design and Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test medical equipment, devices, and systems. Your goal will be to improve patient outcomes and enhance healthcare delivery.            

2.        Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers to create innovative solutions according to specifications.

3.        Testing and Validation: Participate in rigorous testing of products to ensure safety and efficacy before deployment.         

4.        Manufacturing Support: Monitor the entire manufacturing process, from concept design to product implementation. Activities include designing product improvements, developing evaluation methods, coordinating initial production, and creating manufacturing diagrams.

5.          Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.

6.          Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent. 

Must currently be enrolled in a degree program, Associates, Bachelor's or Master's working towards a degree in any of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Biomedical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechatronics/Robotics Engineering.
