Spring Fellow

AI overview

Fellows will engage in substantial education policy research, assisting closely with senior team members, while gaining hands-on experience in advocacy and communications.

Whiteboard Advisors is seeking top-notch fellows to join us part-time (up to 29 hours a week) from January to May 2026. This is a paid internship opportunity for a college student or recent graduate who is motivated to learn more about education and workforce research, advocacy, and communications.

At Whiteboard Advisors, our fellows are a valuable part of our team. They assist with policy research and writing, monitor the media for breaking news and relevant commentary, and support the planning and execution of events, among many other responsibilities. The small size of our firm allows fellows to work closely with senior team members and provides opportunities for substantive work.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have strong research abilities, a keen attention to detail, excellent writing skills, and the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous remote work experience and a major in public policy, communications, political science, or education is preferred, but not required.
  • Interest in education (early childhood, K-12, and higher education) and workforce development is also preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research into education policy issues relevant to Whiteboard Advisors clients, including support with drafting client-facing materials
  • Research and synthesize news, legislation, and guidance at federal, state, and local levels
  • Draft media lists, briefing documents, press releases, pitches, memos, and presentations for internal and external projects
  • Support planning and development for events and influencer engagement opportunities
