SPED Tutor - Handwriting, Math & Reading Support

About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Loma Linda, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in Loma Linda, CA
• Schedule: 25 hours, 3 days a week to start and move up to 4 to 5 days, 1.5 hour to 2 hour sessions
• Pay range is between $25 and $35

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with young children with Autism and/or Speech and Language Impairments.
• Skilled in foundational literacy, math, handwriting, and social-emotional learning.
• Knowledgeable in early childhood development, executive functioning, and behavior management strategies.
• Patient, creative, and energetic, able to balance firm guidance with fun, engaging instruction.
• Strong educational background and experience in Special Education preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction in handwriting, foundational reading, and writing, including language conventions, organization, and traits.
• Support math concepts and skills, including solving math word problems.
• Strengthen reading fluency, comprehension, and early literacy skills.
• Incorporate social-emotional learning (SEL) and executive functioning strategies into sessions.
• Use visual supports, movement breaks, and play-based activities to maintain engagement and focus.
• Implement positive reinforcement and structured redirection strategies to manage frustration or overstimulation.
• Integrate school homework and bring supplemental curriculum to reinforce targeted skill-building.
• Create a motivating, supportive, and safe learning environment that encourages independence and confidence.
