Position Summary

 In this role the individual will serve as consultant and point of contact for Fleet Management activities.  This role develops, recommends, and delivers fleet solutions that optimize owning and operating costs, drive technology adoption, and grow market share (PINS and POPS) for MacAllister Machinery.  The Specialist tracks, monitors, and prioritizes component rebuilds and replacements, collaborates across departments for efficient turnaround, and supports telematics, data collection, and CVA strategies.  A key aspect of this role is providing training and technical support for digital applications and devices, ensuring customers and internal teams maximize the value of CAT technology and MacAllister support.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Execute MacAllister’s fleet management strategy, working with Product Support and Sales teams to ensure accurate lifecycle targets, component histories, and SOS fluid analysis for customers.
  • Maintain and grow the forecasting module focus on annual budgeting for internal and external use, leverage the ability to demonstrate the value of MacAllister Service and Caterpillar Parts in all equipment applications and conditions.
  • Deliver training to customers and internal teams on VisionLink and other CAT digital applications, including advising on the selection and deployment of Product Link devices tailored to specific customer applications and operational needs, to ensure effective use and adoption.
  • Think strategically, educating customers, serving as a consultant and strategizing the best Fleet Management approach by promoting MacAllister’s Fleet Management options.
  • Assists with component and individual parts inventory management to ensure parts availability when needed based on forecasted recommendations.
  • Advises the customer on all their fleet management issues; offering strategic solutions that provide maximum success and revenue for both MacAllister and the customer.
  • Utilize telematics and equipment health reports to recommend essential maintenance, prevent costly repairs, and support continuous operation in distributed generation, data centers, and other high-demand environments.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, investing in understanding their workflow and challenges, and delivering measurable value through technology and service excellence.
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with all safety policies, procedures, guidelines, and laws as they pertain to staff and customers within the department premises.
  • Interface with other MacAllister sales and service personnel in a team-based approach, supporting business development resources and expanding dedicated coverage for new and existing customers.
  • Invest in personal and team upskilling to stay ahead of technology trends, drive utilization, and ensure customer success in a rapidly changing energy market.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • No formal responsibility for supervising others

Position Requirements

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Associate’s degree, technical school certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in a related field
  • 4 years or more of experience with Caterpillar equipment; Sales and/or Service with focus on digital technology offerings

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in Fleet Management, with a focus on Power Generation or Heavy equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to discuss components and capabilities with customers.
  • Six Sigma training (Green Belt).

  • Strong analytical skills demonstrating ability to conduct research, analyze data, efficiently solve problems, creative thinking, and critical thinking.
