Specialist Compliance Systems & Audit

TLDR

Ensure compliance with multiple regulatory requirements and support audits, documentation, and training within the Quality Assurance department.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Compliance, Audit & Regulation Specialist supports the Quality Assurance department by ensuring compliance with SQF, HACCP, FSMA, and other regulatory requirements at the facility. This role oversees internal and external audits, labeling compliance, and regulatory documentation while serving as a key liaison with auditors and regulatory agencies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure compliance with SQF, HACCP, FSMA, USDA, and FDA regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead and support internal and external audits, manage corrective actions, and maintain audit documentation.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with auditors and regulatory agencies.
  • Administer food safety training and provide compliance guidance to site leadership.
  • Review and approve product labels and packaging for regulatory compliance, including domestic and export requirements.
  • Maintain label records and collaborate with third-party vendors and regulatory experts.
  • Support mock recalls, hold and release activities, and traceability processes.
  • Review product documentation, formulas, and Nutrition Facts panels in collaboration with Research and Development.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely updates to ingredients, labels, and documentation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in Quality Assurance or Food Safety within a food production environment
  • Audit experience related to food safety or regulatory compliance

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Valid driver's license
  • SQF and/or HACCP certification; ability to obtain PCQI certification within six months

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of HACCP, SQF, FDA, and USDA regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Manufacturing and office environment with exposure to temperature variations, noise, and equipment

Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform light physical activities as required
