Spaceport Operations Technician (Housekeeping)

SPACEPORT OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN

The Spaceport Operations Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation of Starbase’s guest-facing spaces. This role is hands-on, with a primary focus on housekeeping operations, including room care, laundry, and upkeep of both indoor and outdoor areas. In addition to maintaining high cleanliness standards, this position supports a welcoming and comfortable environment for employees and guests. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, a consistent work ethic, and a genuine passion for spaceport hospitality and delivering a high-quality guest experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clean and maintain guest rooms and bathrooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, disinfecting surfaces, and sanitizing toilets
  • Process laundry, including collecting, washing, drying, pressing, and folding towels and bed linens
  • Restock and replace room amenities and supplies as needed
  • Remove trash, recycling, and soiled linens in a timely manner
  • Arrange and maintain furniture, fixtures, and appliances to ensure a clean and orderly appearance
  • Dust, polish, and remove marks from walls, surfaces, and furnishings
  • Vacuum carpets and sweep and mop hard floors to maintain cleanliness standards
  • Maintain outdoor areas to ensure they are clean, presentable, and well-kept
  • Greet employees and respond to requests promptly, delivering a high level of customer service

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of custodial, facilities maintenance, or operations experience

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in a housekeeping or hospitality role
  • Experience working in large hotels and/or resort environments
  • Strong customer service skills with a guest-first mindset
  • Ability to follow direction while also working independently with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to operate both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Stand: Up to 6 hours per day
  • Sit: Up to 6 hours per day
  • Push/Pull: Up to 50lbs. (unassisted) 2 hours or longer per day
  • Overhead reach: Up to 1 hour per day
  • Walk: Up to 3 hours per day
  • Lift/Carry: Up to 25lbs. (unassisted) 2 hours or longer per day
  • Climb (ladder/stairs): Up to 1 hour per day
  • Kneel/Crouch: Up to 1 hour per day
  • Upper body twist: Up to 1 hour per day
  • Ability to work in temperatures over 80 degrees up to 3 hours per day
  • Candidate must be capable of safely performing the physical requirements of the job listed in the job description. Candidate may be required to complete a pre-employment questionnaire and/or physical to confirm these capabilities, which may include a medical history review
